Obituary- Wehner, Mary 2
Mrs. Mary E. Wehner
ST. MARYS - Mary E. Wehner, 82, St. Marys, died Thursday in a Topeka hospital. She had lived in a St. Marys nursing home the past five years.
She was born Aug. 6, 1898, in Granville, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard and Barbara Meyer Stallman. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys.
She was married to John J. Wehner, June 6, 1917, at Wein, Mo., and they operated grocery and variety stores in Pella and St. Marys many years. Mr. Wehner survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Clarence Wehner and John A. Wehner, both of Rossville, Melvin Wehner, Eudora, and Francis E. Wehner, Sharon Springs; three daughters, Mrs. Irene Wike, Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Katherine Rezac and Mrs. Florence Simecka, both of St. Marys; two brothers, William Stallman, Independence, Mo., and Bernard Stallman, Kansas City, Mo.; 28 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys. Mass of Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.
Mrs. Wehner will lie in state at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
