Frances Browne

EMMETT--Francis M. Browne, Emmett, died Tuesday, March 27, 1979, at a Topeka hospital.

She was born in the Holy Cross community south of Emmett, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Michael Browne.

Mrs. Browne was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia, and the National Retired Teachers Association.

She taught in elementary schools in Jackson and Pottawatomie counties many years.

Survivors include a sister, Miss Josephine Browne, Emmett, and two brothers, Michael Browne, Emmett, and John M. Brown, St. Marys.

Services will be 5 p.m. Friday at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Friends may meet at the funeral home before going to the cemetery. Miss Browne will lie in state from 1 p.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
