Obituary- Whearty, Dorothy

Dorothy Charlene Whearty
Dorothy Charlene Whearty, 68, Topeka, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1993, at a Topeka retirement home.

Mrs. Whearty was a Teletype operator for Santa Fe Railroad for 43 years.

She was born Aug. 24, 1925, in Topeka, the daughter of Melville and Ada Blanche Frye Pollard.

She was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church.

She was married to Calvin Wesley Whearty Oct. 9,1954, in Ellis. He died in 1987.

Cremation is planned. Graveside memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Shawnee Center Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Midland Hospice, 1272 S.W. Fillmore, 66604-1272.
