George White
ESKRIDGE — George E.R. White. 85, Eskridge, formerly of Rossville, died here Tuesday in a rest home where he had been transferred from a Topeka hospital in 1973. He had been admitted to the hospital May 10, 1973, after he suffered a broken right hip in a fall and underwent surgery May 14.
He was born March 20, 1889, in Nebraska and lived in the Topeka and Rossville communities about 50 years. He was an electrician before he retired. He was a member of Local No. 226 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Topeka.
He was married to Dollie McClymont Dec. 16, 1915, in New York. She died July 16,1969.
Survivors include two sons, Charles R.H. White, Route 1, Maple Hill, and Lawrence W. B. White, Weatherford, Tex.; a half-sister, Mrs. Mabel Duncan. Mariposa, Calif.; six grandchildren arid three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rossville Cemetery. The casket will remain closed. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Austin Funeral Home at Eskridge is in charge of arrangements.
