Death strikes twice in two weeks

Rossville was again saddened Friday morning, when the news of the death of James White, native of Rossville, was received.
This was the second White son to die within the past two weeks.
A resident of Waukesha, Wis., he died Thursday in a rest home at Pewaukee, Wis., following an illness with cancer.
Mr. White was born July 18, 1895, at Rossville, where he spent his early life, and was graduated in 1913 from the Rossville High School. He later taught in schools before serving with the U.S. Coast Guard in World War I.
Survivors include his wife: Mrs. Alma White, of the home; two daughters: Mrs. Charleen Evans, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Mrs. Maxine Carlson, WaukeŽsha; two stepdaughters: Mrs. Felicia Gottleib, Fort Lauderdale; Mrs. Gwen Keppler, Waukesha.
He also leaves two sisters: Mrs. Daisy Rice of Ventura, Calif.; and Grace White, Rossville; 14 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
