ZIM WHITE
Zim Edward White, 72, second son of the ten children of Arthur Esmond and Grace Evelyn Myers White, late of South San Francisco, Calif., died Saturday, November 23, 1985, in Chope Community Hospital, San Mateo, Calif. He had been a patient there since November 4.

Mr. White was born December 16, 1912, in Rossville, and attended schools in Shawnee, Pottawatomie and Jackson Counties in Kansas.

In May of 1941, Mr. White moved with his parents to South San Francisco, where he had made his home.

In May 1942, Mr. White was inducted into the U.S. Army in San Francisco and served until his honorable discharge at Camp Beale, Calif. January 7, 1946. He had received a Good Conduct Medal, WW II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, and a Combat Medical Badge. He was an ambulance driver during his military service.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, older brother, James T., in 1939, sister Faye and brother Ritchie in 1984.

Survivors include four brothers, Don White, Campbell, Calif., Bob Pitney White, Jacksonville, Fla., Clayton E. White, South San Francisco, Calif; and William P. White, Carrollton, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Peggy McAdon, Newbury Park, Calif.; two aunts, Miss Grace White, Rossville, and Mrs. Mildred Fisher, Topeka; an uncle, Clark E. Myers, Decatur, Ga.; six nephews and five nieces; many cousins and friends.

Cremation in California will be followed later by a short service by the Jimmie Lillard Post of the American Legion at the family plot in the Rossville Cemetery.
