Obituary- Whitehead, Bertha

Bertha Whitehead

Bertha Ann Whitehead, 102, Topeka, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2011, at a Topeka nursing home.

She was born Feb. 28, 1899, in Kingsville, the daughter of Robert and Nora Mitchell Owens. She attended Rossville High School and Stricklers Business College in Topeka. She had worked for various clerical jobs in the Topeka area.

She married Floyd S. Whitehead. He died in 1960.

Survivors include a son, William Whitehead, Topeka; and a granddaughter.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Whitehead will lie in state after 5 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
