Obituary- Whittington, Melvin 2

MELVIN WHITTINGTON DEAD

The community was shocked by the sudden death of Melvin Whittington. son of Mr. and Mrs. John Whittington, who passed away Tuesday noon, at North Platt, Neb., following a short illness. Death resulted from pneumonia following a case of blood poisoning.

Funeral services will be held today, at 2:30 at the Methodist church.

An obituary will be published next week.

The following out-of-town relatives were in Rossville Thanksgiving Day to attend the funeral of Melvin Whittington held at the Methodist church: Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Megonigle and Darlene, of Richland. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Allen, Betty and Ilene of Richland; Mrs. S. A. Haines, Mrs. Mabie Tucker, Mrs. T. Adams, Tommy Gene, Mrs. Mildred Van Dresser, of Independence; M.rs. L. Whittington, Maple Hill; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith of Kansas City; Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Scown, North Platte, Nebr.; Miss Francis Whittington, North Platte, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Lemon of Topeka.
