Obituary- Wyatt, Kirk
Kirk A. Wyatt
Kirk A. Wyatt, 89, 7150 N. Highway 75, died Monday, July 30, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Wyatt was a calendar operator and mill man for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. at Topeka from 1945 until he retired in 1962. He was employed by liquor stores in the Oakland and North Topeka areas from 1962 to 1978.
He was born July 23, 1895, at Lewisburg, Ky., the son of Isaac and Martha Ellen McDaniel Wyatt. He moved to Kansas with his parents in 1903 and lived many years in the Rossville and Delia communities before he moved to Elmont in 1946.
He was a former member of Local No. 307 of United Rubber Workers in Topeka.
He was married to Murel King Edwards Feb. 14, 1946. She survives. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmie Joe Wyatt and Robert Wyatt.
Other survivors include four sons, Harley Wyatt, Hastings, Neb., Glen T. Wyatt, Aurora, Neb., Larry Wyatt, Arvada, Colo., and Gerald Wyatt, Houston, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Felicia Gottlieb, West Palm Beach, Fla., Mrs. Gwenetha Keppler, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Mrs. Dorothy Paul, Apple Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Hazel Schmelzle, Topeka; a stepson, Ernest Lee Edwards, Milpitas, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Maxine Rodrigues, Milpitas, Calif., and Mrs. Charlene McClain, Carbondale; 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Half Day Cemetery at Elmont. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
