Betty Irene Wingert
ROSSVILLE — Betty Irene Wingert, 76,
Rossville, died Thursday, Oct. 29,1993, at a
Rossville nursing home.
Mrs. Wingert was a receptionist and bookkeeper for many doctors in Kansas, and she last worked for Dr. Brown in St. Marys.
She was born Dec. 18,1921, near Windom, the daughter of Richard and Rose Lindquist Raleigh. She graduated from Hutchinson Business College and had lived in Rossville since 1973.
Mrs. Wingert was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church and the Windom United Methodist Church.
She married Alton E. Wingert on Sept. 14, 1941, at Lyons. He died June 17, 1992. A son, Brian Wingert, died in 1978.
Survivors include a daughter, Rozann Tebo, Rossville; three brothers, John Raleigh, Great Bend, Leo Raleigh, Windom, and Bob Raleigh, Atlanta; four grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Windom United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Windom Cemetery at Windom. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Piper Funeral Chapel in Rossville and from 10 a.m. to service time Monday at the church. Relatives and friends will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Windom United Methodist Church or to the Topeka Humane Society Church and sent in care of the funeral chapel.
Betty I. Wingert
Betty Irene Wingert, 76, Ross ville, died Thursday, October 29, 1998, at the Rossville Valley Manor.
She was born December 18, 1921, near Windom, the daughter of Richard and Rose Lindquist Raleigh. She had lived in the Rossville community since 1973.
Betty grew up in the Windom community and was graduated from Windom High School. She was graduated from Hutchinson Business College in Hutchinson, and was a receptionist and bookkeeper for many doctors in Kansas, last working for Dr. Fred Brown in St. Marys. Betty was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church and the Windom United Methodist Church.
On September 14, 1941, she was married to Alton E. Wingert in Lyons. He died July 17, 1992. She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Wingert in 1978, a sister, June Duske, and two brothers, Galen Raleigh and Jim Raleigh.
Surviving her are a daughter, Rozann, and a son-in-law, Robert Tebo, Rossville; three brothers, John Raleigh, Great Bend, Leo Raleigh, Windom, and Bob Raleigh, Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren and four great-granddaughters.
A family visitation was held Sunday afternoon at Piper Funeral Chapel in Rossville. Her service was at 11 a.m. Monday at the Windom United Methodist Church, Windom. Burial was in the Windom Cemetery.
