Obituary- Wiltz, Vincent
Vincent G. Wiltz
St. Marys— Vincent G. Wiltz, 89, passed away Tues¬day, May 19, 2015 at the St. Marys Manor.
He was born November 3, 1925 at rural Nemaha County Kansas, the son of John and Helena Christman Wiltz.
He served in the United States Army during WWII in the South Pacific and in Germany. Vince retired from the Kansas National Guard in Topeka. After his retirement he was co-owner with his wife Pat of the St. Marys Surplus Store for many years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys and a member of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion at Rossville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Joe, Eddy, Bernard, Leo and Nicholas; a sister Mary and a granddaughter Lily.
He was united in marriage to Maxine M. “Pat” Hulsing on January 17,1951
at Sabetha. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include 6 sons, David, Steve (Deana), Mike and significant other (Tammy) and Doug all of St. Marys, Dan (Tammy) and Don Wiltz all of Topeka; a daughter, Pat (George) Stewart, Columbia, MO; two sisters, Millie McElroy, Louisville, KY., and Cecilia Hudelson, Ashland City, TN; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, May 23 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pottawatomie-Wabaunsee Regional Library, St. Marys Branch or St. Marys Senior Center and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
