W.H. Wright Is Dead
Principal of Lincoln School a Victim of Cancer.
W.H. Wright, principal of Lincoln school, died at his home, 1320 Polk street, Friday afternoon of cancer of the stomach, at the age of 48, after a lingering illness extending over a period of several years, though he was not confined to his home until recently. Professor Wright has been principal of Lincoln school since the fall of 1903 and prior to that time he was principal of the Quincy street school in North Topeka for a number of years.

He was elected superintendent of the Shawnee county schools in 1894, serving two terms of two years each. He was one of the best known educators in this section of the state as wells as one of the most popular with his pupils and their parents alike. He is survived by a wife and six children.
Professor S.F. Wright, a brother, who formerly lived in Topeka and served two terms as county superintendent but who is now a resident of Kansas City, is in Topeka and will assist with the arrangements for the funeral which will be private and held from the residence Monday afternoon at 1:30. The casket will be open Sunday afternoon from three to five o’clock for the convenience of the friends who care to view the remains. [ ] a special meeting of the school board held last night, resolutions of condolence were passed and President [ ] of the board requested to send [ ] of the resolutions to the family.
