Obituary- Cantillon, Richard 1

Richard J. "Dick" Cantillon, 70, rural Rossville, died Friday, August 14, 1981, at his home. He was born September 16, 1910, in Chicago, Ill., the son of William D. and Beatrice Packham Cantillon. He attended schools at Champagne, Ill., and South Bend, Ind. He was a student at St. Mary's College in the early 1930s.
On July 15, 1931, he was married to Ann M. Besta in Waukeegan, Ill. The couple moved to the Rossville area in 1935, and farmed west of Rossville where they made their home. Mrs. Cantillon died June 23, 1981.
Mr. Cantillon was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in Rossville, an Honorary Life Member of Knights of Columbus Council 657, and a Fourth Degree member of the Thomas A. McNeive General Assembly, St. Marys.
Surviving him are a son, William B. Cantillon, Rossville; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Backerman, Rossville; a sister, Mrs. Betty Schaefer, Milwaukee, Wisc., nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Rosary is at 7 p.m. Tuesday (tonight) at Verschelden Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Church in Rossville. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Casket bearers are Robert Harden, Douglas Harden, Darrell Harden, Richard Cantillon, Michael Cantillon and Dennis Tolle.
The family has requested memorial donations be sent to the Heart Fund.
