Marriage- Mee, Trudi-Davis, Gene

Mee- Davis Vows
Miss Trudi Lynne Mee, daughter of Mr. and Lyndon Mee, Maple became the bride of Mr. Gene Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Davis, Rossville, in a ceremony solemnized Sunday evening, September 1, at 7:30 in the Congregational Church, Maple Hill.

The Rev. W. E. officiated at the double-ring ceremony. A large bouquet of white gladioli graced the altar. Mrs. Howard Hammarlund, organist, played and accom¬panied Rodney Say, soloist. Taper-lighters were Jan Miller, Maple Hill, Karan Spanier, Copeland.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore floorlength gown of bridal taffeta. The scoop neckline was outlined with of Venice lace, and bridal point sleeves complimented the basque bodice. The soft gathered skirt was styled in two tiers, with the top tier trimmed in matching lace. The back detail consisted of an aisle-wide chapel train. Her elbow-length veil of silk illusion, banded in Venice lace, was caught to a crown of pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses with ivy streamers. Her only jewelry was a strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom.

The maid of honor, the bride’s sister, Miss Marcia Mee, and bridesmaids, Miss Roberta Oliver, Maple Hill, and Sydney Nixon of Emporia, wore streetlength gowns of silk brocade in French blue, styled with a fitted bodice and a bell-shaped skirt. The bodice featured a scoop neckline and elbow- length sleeves. Small self-bows accented the skirt. They wore matching blue circlets with short veils and carried bouquets of white mums, blue cornflowers with white streamers.

Sarah Adams of Plains, was flower girl and wore a white organdy dress with blue sash, and wore blue pom-poms in her hair.

The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Dean Davis, of Manhattan. Groomsmen were Roy D. Davis, another brother, of Rossville, and Jerry Rice, of Eskridge; Ushers were Baird Miller, Maple Hill; Steve Lucas, Topeka; Donald Rogers, Rossville.

Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the Parish Hall. Miss Cynthia Lucas of Topeka, Mrs. Dean Davis, Manhattan, and Miss Judy Robert, Topeka, presided at the serving table.

Mrs. Roy D. Davis, Rossville, was in charge of the guest book, and Misses Kathryn Adams and Lana Schulte, Maple Hill, in charge of gifts.

Mr. and Mrs. Davis are now making their home in Emporia, where they will be juniors at Kansas State Teachers College.
