Vows are solemnized in Texas
A double-ring ceremony Saturday evening, Nov. 30, in Ocker Brethren Church, Zabcikville, Tex., united Miss Karen Elaine Kovar and Mr. Gene W. Klein.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kovar, Rogers, Texas. Mr. Kovar is a native of the Rossville-Delia communities. The paternal grandparents are Mrs. Frank Kovar of Rogers, and the late Mr. Kovar. They resided in the Rossville-Delia area prior to their moving to Texas a number of years ago.

Parents of the bridegroom are Mrs. Annie Klein of Burlington, Tex., and the late Mr. Klein.

The Rev. Albert Michalik of Nelsonville, Tex., officiated during the candlelight service. Providing music was organist, Mrs. David Thompson of Temple, Tex., and soloist, John Swahn of College Station, Texas.

Gowned in a floor-length sheath of jubilante crepe, the bride was given in marriage by her father. The gown featured a high-rise French Alencon lace yolk flowing into elbow-length sleeves of lace. The portrait neckline and Watteau train were enhanced with seed pearls. A nosegay of peau and Alencon lace flowers held the tiered English silk illusion but-terfly veil. She carried a cascade of stephanotis, lily of the valley and orchids.

Miss Gayle Kovar attended her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Pat Griggs of Friendswood, Tex., and Miss Karen Dixon of Houston Texas. They wore floor- length gowns of moss green velvet, with matching circlets and short veils.

Thomas C. Mallett of Austin, Tex., was best man. Groomsmen were Roy Schuetze of Burlington, Tex., and Calvin Kraemer of Cameron, Texas.

Guests were seated by Leon Rummel, Marvin Luksa and Gene York. Candlelighters were Woodrow Glen Chervenka and Walter Haisler.

Miss Esther Chervenka of Huntsville, T e x., registered guests at the wedding and at the reception held in the Fellowship Building.

Presiding at the bride’s table were Miss Annette Kovar of Houston, Mrs. Walter Haisler of College Station, Mrs. Larry Posvar of Burlington, Mrs. James Naiver and Miss Jeanette Kovar of Temple.

Other members of the house party were Miss Linda Lucko, Miss Connie Lucko, and Miss Diann Lucko, all of Cameron; Mrs. Thomas C. Mallett of Austin, Mrs. Woodrow Chervenka and Mrs. Otis Kovar of Rogers, Mrs. W. G. Chervenka of Brenham, Tex., and Miss Pam Machelek of Temple.

Cindy Chervenka of Brenham distributed rice bags.

The bride is a candidate for a B.S. degree from Lamar State College of Technology in Beaumont, Tex., after she completes her medical technology internship at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital in Waco, Texas.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Rosebud High School and received his B.S. degree in agricultural economics from Texas A&M.
