Obituary- Burns, Louis

Louis V. Burns died suddenly at his home near Mayetta, KS. Saturday, Oct. 9th. He was born in Rossville, May 26, 1983 and was the son of the late Joseph and Julia Burns. IN 1929, Mr. Burns moved to Rocky Ford, Colo., returning two years ago to make his home in Kansas. His wife is the former Stella Stamp.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Stella, four sons, Joseph, Holton; Tom of La Junta, Colo.; Albert and Edwin of the home. Five daughters: Mrs. John Felps, Mayetta; Mrs. Georgia Hause in California; Mrs. Delbert Spencer, La Junta, Colo; Jean and Grace of the home. One brother, Ray Burns, Holton; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Martin, Mrs. John Martin, Rossville and Mrs. Dean Place, Soldier, KS. Twelve grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Anthony Flyn S.J. at the Catholic church here, Tuesday, morning at 10 o'clock.
Pallbearers were his nephews, Phillip and Edwin Burns, Reid, Paul and Ralph Martin and Donald Martin. Burial in the Rossville cemetery.
A precious one from us has gone
A voice we loved is still;
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
