Munoz-Mansfield Vows Exchanged
Maria Teresa Munoz and Thomas James Mansfield were married Saturday, December 8, in an afternoon ceremony at St. Patrick's Church, Parsons.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P.V. Munoz, Parsons. The groom's mother is Esther Mansfield, Rossville.
The marriage was performed by the Reverend George Seuferling of Kansas City and the Reverend J. Eugene Komer of Pittsburg. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She wore a v-necked white qiana dress with an empire waist, trimmed in lace with pearl buttoned cuffs and a 12-foot cathedral length mantilla veil trimmed in matching lace, with a garland strand from her mother's wedding crown. The dress was made by the bride's brother.
She carried a bouquet of red roses, baby's breath and plumosa fern. She also carried her mother's wedding prayer book and a Belgian handkerchief trimmed with handmade lace, a gift from her brother.
Debbie Hanigan, Parsons, was maid of honor. Bridal attendants were Rosie Munoz and Clara Heironimus, both sisters of the bride, Parsons, and Virginia Dickson, Emporia.
Mike Nadeau, Topeka, was best man. Groomsmen were Kelly Wood, Amarillo, Tex.; Bill Whitlock, Rossville, and Steve Patterson, Topeka.
Candle lighters were Tommi Lea Mansfield, Silver Lake, daughter of the groom, and Vicki Munoz, Parsons, niece of the bride.
Music was provided by Rose Carmel Munoz and Tony Munoz, sister and brother of the bride.
A reception followed the ceremony at St. Patrick's School, and a wedding dinner was held in the evening. Assisting at the reception were Diane McAtee, Debbie Stich, Kathleen Duffy, Margee Munoz, niece of the bride, and Linda Munoz, sister-in-law of the bride.
The bride was graduated from Emporia State University and is a merchandise reviewer for Sears, Roebuck & Co. in Chicago. The groom also attend the Emporia University.
The couple is at home in Chicago.
