Marriage- Martin, Laura-Mayer, Stanley

Martin-Mayer Vows Exchanged August 1 in Mexico
Laura Teresa Martin and Stanley Edward Mayer received the sacrament of marriage on Saturday, August 1, 1987, at 7:30 p.m. at Boys’ Town Catholic Chapel in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico. The Rev. David Barba, the bride’s cousin, officiated the ceremony.

Present were the parents of the couple, Juan and Manuela Martin, Pachuca, Mexico, and Arlie and Grace Mayer, Rossville.

Bridal attendants wore ankle-length dresses of peach and navy blue suits with peach bow ties. The attendants were nieces and nephews of the bride.

The bride is a graduate of the University of Mexico City and Columbia University with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree and orthodontist degree. She is self-employed in New York City.

Mr. Mayer is a graduate of Rossville High School and the Kaw Valley Vocational-Technical School with a degree in drafting. He is employed as a Dental Design Engineer in New York City.

On August 22, a short marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. John Erickson at the Jimmy Lillard American Legion Post 31 in Rossville. Parents of the couple were present.

Following the ceremony, a reception and buffet dinner were held for family and friends.

The couple left Tuesday for their home in New York City, accompanied by the bride’s parents.
