Obituary- Burton, Agnes 3

Agnes C. Burton, Rossville, Is Dead

Mrs. Agnes C. Burton, 65, Rossville, died Thursday at a Topeka hospital where she had been admitted Sept. 27. She had an apparent cerebral ailment. Earlier she had suffered a broken hip.

She was born Feb. 10, 1903 at Wamego. She spent many years in Topeka before she moved to Rossville in 1960. She was a nurses aide at Topeka State Hospital 20 years, and prior to that worked at the U.S. Army Supply Depot.

She was a member of Rebekah Lodge Silver Lake.

Her husband Jess Burton died Nov. 20, 1940.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Fred McCollough, Rossville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Irwin Burton, 3720 S. Park St.; three brothers, Clarence Bretz and John Bretz, both of Wamego, and Louis Bretz, Rossville; three granddaughters; four step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Parker Mortuary. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery at Auburn.
