THURSDAY, JULY 28, 1955 REICHERTER - BENNETT VOWS SAID IN ASSUMPTION CHURCH IN TOPEKA
In a ceremony solemnized July 3 at 9 p. m. in the Assumption Church, Norma Jean Reicherter, Topeka daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo J. Reicherter, Seneca, became the bride of Kenneth L. Bennett, Rossville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bennett, Rossville.

Msgr. Eugene F. Vallely performed the double-ring ceremony before a Nuptial High Mass. The church choir provided the music.

The bride wore a gown of hand- clipped Chantilly lace and nylon tulle. The fitted bodice was designed with a net yoke and mandarin collar outlined in rainbow sequins. The long sleeves were finished with scallops of lace. The very full tulle skirt worn over hoops, featured lace insets at the hemline and had an aisle-wide chapel train. Her finger-tip length veil of imported silk illusion, was held by a Juliet cap of lace outlined with seed pearls. She wore pearl earrings, a gift of the groom, and carried a bouquet of red roses.

Mary Ellen Reicherter, Seneca, sister of the bride, maid of honor, and Mary Bennett, Rossville, sister of the groom, wore ballerina-length gowns of net over taffeta with fitted waists, strapless bodices, and matching bolero jackets. Miss Reicherter was in pink. Miss Bennett in aqua. They wore half-hats of white flowers and tulle and carried bouquets of yellow carnations.

The groom was attended by Gale Bennett, Rossville, as best man, and Jody Muller, St. Marys, groomsman. Donald Bennett, Wamego, and Francis Muller, Manhattan, ushered.

The bride’s mother wore a lilac colored nylon dress and the groom’s mother wore a navy blue nylon dress. Both had corsages of white feathered carnations.

A reception was held in the Rose du Barry Room of the Hotel Jayhawk following the ceremony. A four-tiered wedding cake, decorated with pint roses, centered the table. Assisting were: Mrs. Robert Brunnin, Catherine Noll and Isla Parnell.

A dinner was served at the Hotel Jayhawk following the reception for the wedding party and immediate families.

The couple is at home at 906 Fillmore, Topeka.

The bride has been employed by the National Reserve Life Insurance Company for the past three years. The groom is serving with the United States Air Force, stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base, Rapid City S. D.
