Debra J. Davis and Steven P. Schoenekase were united in marriage at 7 p.m. May 16 at Danforth Chapel, Lawrence. The Rev. Lee Morris officiated.

Parents of the couple are Dean Marlene Davis, Maple Hill, and Terrence and Carol Schoenekase, Chattanooga, Tenn.

Attending the bride were Deana Cowan, Rossville; Jennifer Warton, Manhattan; Christine Potts, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Crystal Beneken, Lawrence. Candlelighters were Pam Taliaferro and Monica Matyak, Lawrence. Personal attendant was Diane Leiker, Lawerence. Attending the groom were Jeff Schoenekase, Atlanta, Ga.; Jay Hyland, Lawrence; Dan Davis, Maple Hill; and Derek Fobes, Salina. Ushers were Bill Foley and Darren Braun, Lawrence. The blessing was given by Mike Kaploe and Beth Gaiman.

The bride is a graduate of Rossville High School and the University of Kansas with a degree in journalism. She is employed by the Kansas State Board of Agriculture. The groom is a graduate of Henry J. Kaiser High School, Honolulu, Hawaii, and the University of Kansas with a degree in architectural engineering. He is studying for a master's degree in civil engineering/structures and is employed as a teacher in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Kansas.

The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas, Nev.
