Marriage- Allen, Suzy-Thompson, Stanley 2

Allen-Thompson Wedding Held in Rossville

Suzy Kay Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Allen, Valencia, and Stanley Eugene Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thompson, Rossville, were united in marriage on Sunday, August 2, 1981, in the Rossville United Methodist Church. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Larry Buss. John Kratina and Cynthia Calahan provided the music. Mickey Shannon was the organist.

Candles were lit by Kim Hegle, Herington, and Kim Bolte, Salina. They wore pink chiffon gowns.

For her wedding, Suzy chose a simple, elegant dress of white organza. The scooped neckline and bodice were adorned with Venice lace. The bodice had a motif of Schiffli embroidery as did the sheer bishop sleeves. A chain of Venice floral lace swept down the front and across the skirt. The chapel train finished the gown. She wore a three-quarter length illusion veil trimmed with lace. Suzy carried a bouquet of white orchids, pink carnations, spider mums, and baby’s breath.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Debbie Allen, Valencia. Bridesmaids were Lisa Stadler, Rossville, and Ann Anderson, Pembine, Wise. They wore gowns of pink crepe with over-bodices of pink lace. The flower girl was Jennifer Anderson of Pembine, Wise. She wore a floor length dress of pink dotted swiss.

The groom wore gray pin stripe pants with a gray tuxedo jacket and light gray shirt. Steve Thompson, brother of the groom, was his best man. Groomsmen were Doug Queen, Rossville, and Rick Miller, San Antonio, Tex. Ring bearer was Ryan Sage, Topeka. Ushers were Monte McGinnis, Rossville, and Randy Shannon, Topeka. They wore gray tuxedos.

A reception followed the ceremony in the church basement. Serving were Debbie Willits, Jeanne Ronnebaum, and Lorrie Hildebrandt. Diane Shannon, Lincoln, Nebr., Sue Allen and Jill Allen, Denver, Colo., and Lindy Haines, Phoenix, Ariz., were at the gift table. Gift bearers were Dustin Martinek, Delia, and Jason Allen, Denver, Colo. Also assisting at the reception was Joan Anderson, Pembine, Wise.

Honored guests were the grandmothers of the bride, Mrs. Lavina Allen, Topeka, and Mrs. Evelyn Shannon, Blue Rapids.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson are graduates of Rossville High School. She is attending KSU, majoring in elementary education. Mr. Thompson operates a farm north of Rossville.
