Vawter-Burgett
Mary Elizabeth Vawter and Greg-ory Burgett exchanged wedding vows at 7:30 p.m. July 9 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Scranton. The Rev. Thomas Hesse officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Betty L. Vawter and the late Clarence Vawter, Carbondale. The bridegroom is the son of Joseph W. Burgett and the late Rita M. Burgett.

Attending the bride were Lois Vawter Nedeau, Overbrook, and Nancy Vawter Southard, Carbondale. Attending the bridegroom were Gary J. Burgett, Nashville, Tenn., and Terrance L. Burgett.

Mrs. Burgett graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School, Carbondale, Washburn University with a degree in home economics, and Kansas State University with a master’s degree in educational technology. Mr. Burgett graduated from Hayden High School, Washburn University with a degree in English, and the University of Kansas with a master’s degree in English. Both are employed by Santa Fe Trail U.S.D. 434, Carbondale.
