Marriage- Horak, Peggy-Workman, Albert 1

Mr. & Mrs. Albert W. Workman

Peggy Jean Horak became the bride of Albert William Workman during a ceremony read by the Rev. Kenneth Mauldin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 1974, in the Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church in Topeka.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs Bennie Horak, Delia, and. the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul A. Workman of West Virginia.

The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, wore an A-line gown of Peau-de-soie and Chantilly lace. It was fashioned with an empire bodice, high neckline, long, full sleeves with a wide cuff. Appliques of lace accented the skirt. The matching, detachable train fell into a chapel length. Her long veil was held by a crown of satin and lace appliques and she carried a bouquet of red sweetheart roses and mint green carnations. The altar bouquet was of red carnations with mint green gladioli and feathered mums.

The couple’s honor attendants were Janice Horak, Delia, sister- in-law of the bride, and Corky Workman, Topeka, brother of the groom.

A reception in the church parlor followed the ceremony with Mrs. Mary Workman cutting the cake and Debbie Wehner pouring the punch. Mrs. Juanita Hanna assisted at the guest book and Tina Stum handed out rice bags.

Mrs. Workman is a graduate of Rossville High School and is employed by Duffen’s Optical Company, Topeka.
