Edna Mae Bush
Rossville - Edna Mae Bush, 79, Rossville, died Wednesday November 25, 1998, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Bush had taught school in rural schools in Lyon County, primarily in District No. 107 at Admire.
She was born May 19, 1919, north of Emporia, the daughter of Jess and Bertha Thomas Corpening. She attended Emporia State Teacher’s College, and she had lived in Rossville the past 44 years.
Mrs. Bush was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church.
She married Donald L. Bush on Nov. 8, 1941, at Cedar Falls, Iowa. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Donald L. Bush, Jr. and Roger L. Bush, both of Rossville; two daughters, Linda A. Vacca, Topeka, and Cathy Marie Manbeck, Rossville; seven brothers, William Corpening, Eskridge, Donald Corpening, Wichita, Gerald Corpening, Liberty, Mo., Lester Corpening, Elkhart, Marvin Corpening, Cole Camp, Mo., James Corpening, Topeka, Victor Corpening, Emporia; two sisters, Freda Venning, Allen, and Berniece Pickens, Topeka; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Bush will lie in state after 1 p.m. today at the Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
