Nadine Murry Christie
Nadine Murry Christie, 66, Topeka, died Tuesday, September 15, 1992, at a Topeka hospital after she had a cerebral hemorrhage.
Mrs. Christie was a credit manager for the J.C. Penny Company when she retired in 1988.
She was born December 15, 1925, at Delia, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Hanrahan Murry. She was graduated from Delia High School and attended St. Mary’s College.
Mrs. Christie was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, St. Vincent’s Guild and Daughters of Isabella, all in Topeka.
She was married to Donald M. Christie July 11, 1949, at Topeka. He died in 1968.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Murry Christie and Richard Gregory Christie, both of Topeka; two sisters, Darlene Gilsdorf, Kansas City, Mo., and Helen Madden, Laguna Miguel, Calif.; and a brother Harold Murry, Reno, Nev.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 17, in Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
A parish rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Topeka.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nadine Christie Shunga Trail Memorial Fund in care of Bank IV, 534 S. Kansas Avenue, Topeka, 66603.
After her death Mrs. Christie’s family honored her wish to be an organ donor.
