Obituary- Fritz, Eddie

Eddie Fritz, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Fritz, died last Friday night, after a sickness that extended over several weeks. To him death was not an unexpected visitant. He repeatedly told his friends he was about to leave them. His words and demeanor countenanced the idea that unseen hands drew back the curtain that hangs between the Father's "footstool" and his throne and laid bare the hands that beckon little children to the arms of Him who said, "Suffer little children, and forbid them not to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven." he was six years old, lacking a few days. His parents are well known and highly respected in this community and in the season of their bereavement have the unfeigned sympathy of a numerous company of friends.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church last Sunday morning, the Rev. J.M. Whitehead officiating. The text was taken from Job XIV:14 - "If a man die shall he live again?" In the course of his remarks the preacher said it was impossible for those who have never lost a child to fully comprehend the heart-rending that parents experience as they surround the dying couch, or at the open grave say a last farewell. No truer words could well have been spoken, as every parent who has been called upon to pass through the ordeal can testify. And oh! how this elucidates the idea the inspired penman had in mind when he wrote: "Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the peope. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted."
