Marriage- DeGraff, George Ellen-Venturella, Anthony
DeGraff-Venturella
Mr. and Mrs. George DeGraff, Jr. announce the marriage of their daughter, George Ellen to Cpl. Anthony J. Venturella, son of Mrs. Rose Venturella, Pittsburgh, Pa. The nuptials were read at 8 o'clock Saturday evening at the home of the bride's parents, with Rev. harry Weed officiating.
Mrs. James Wylie sang "O Promise Me," and "I Love You Truly." She was accompanied by Mrs. James Zimmerman, who also played Lohengrin's wedding march.
The bride wore a blue wood tailored suit, with black accessories and an orchid corsage. Mrs. Hollis Bitner sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a grey crepe dress, with a corsage of red roses. Pfc. Harry Joeger acted as best man.
Mrs. DeGraff wore an aqua crepe dress, with orchid corsage.
Following the ceremony a reception was held. A three-tiered wedding cake in pink and white topped with a miniature bride and groom, centered the table.
Mrs. Betty Hosford and Mrs. Wendell McCall served.
Mrs. Venturella is a graduate of Topeka High School and is now employed at the Santa Fe offices.
Corporal Venturella is a graduate of South High School in Pittsburgh, and was employed at the Drevo Shipyards, Neville Island, Pa., before entering the service. He is stationed at the Herrington Air Base.
Following the reception Mr. and Mrs. Venturella left for a short wedding trip to Pittsburgh.
Out-of-town guests at the wedding were the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Strimple, of Rossville.
