HOMER CHARLES COLTER
Homer Charles Colter, 71, of 135 Van Buren was D.O.A. at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center Emergency Room, Monday, April 15, 1985. He [was] born May 2, 1913 at Bedford, Kansas the son of Charles Nelson Colter and Goldie Lister Colter Harden.
Mr. Colter had lived in Rossville before moving to Topeka in 1943. He had been in the tire business for 26 years and then worked for the City of Topeka for 6 years until he retired. Mr. Colter was a member of the National Campers and
Hikers Association.
He was married to Velma E. Startup on April 5, 1937. She survives at home.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son: Charles Homer Colter of Topeka; a daughter: Mrs. Barbara Ann Fletchall of Topeka; 4 Brothers: Orval Harden of Topeka; Ovie Harden of Silver Lake; Bob Harden of Rossville; Wilbur Harden of Jacksonville, Fla.; 3 sister: Mrs. Loretta Murray of Topeka; Mrs. Lola Patton of Escondido, Calif.; Mrs. Marcella Wunder of Topeka; 5 grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Parker-Price Chapel with Rev. Thomas D. Kinnan, officiating. Interment will be in Rochester Cemetery, [Topeka].
