Marriage- Mermis, Cheryl-Frederick, Thomas

The marriage of Cheryl Mer mis and Thomas E. Frederick was solemnized during a noon ceremony May 6 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys. The Rev. Robert Hasenkamp officiated.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Don Sommers and Mr. and Mrs. Everett R. Frederick.

Donna Sommers was her sister’s maid of honor and Linda Frederick, sister of Mr. Frederick, was bridesmaid. Mary Kay Mermis, Russell, was flower girl and ring bearer was Danny Talley.

Brothers of the couple, David Frederick and Michael Sommers, served as best man and groomsman. Mitchel Sommers, brother of the bride, and Kevin Smith, seated the guests.

A reception following the ceremony honored the couple.

The bride wore a gown of white organza with embroidered Empire bodice, wedding-ring collar and long fitted sleeves. The A-line skirt extended into a chapel-length train. A Camelot headpiece held her veil.

Mrs. Frederick is employed by the Topeka Board of Education and Mr. Frederick is employed by Santa Fe Railway Co.
