Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Martinek

The marriage of Patricia Parr to Douglas Martinek was solemnized in the Sacred Heart Church in Delia, Kansas, December 1, 1962, at 10:00 a.m.

The Rev. George Seuferling performed the Nuptial Mass, and music was furnished by Mrs. Rita Kerwin and Linda Roth.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Parr and Mr. Martinek is the son of Mr. and Mrs. B.J. Martinek all of Rossville, Kansas.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a floor length gown of white
taffeta, with a scoop neckline, pointed sleeves and a long chapel train. The embroided motif in the bodice was repeated in the train. Her illusion veil fell from a velvet rose. Small orchids formed in a cross was the bridal bouquet.

Linda Parr, sister of the bride and maid of honor, wore a red velyet dress with a scoop neckline and bell-shaped skirt. The brides maids, Nancy Best a, another sister of the bride, Shirley Leirz, Wetmore, and Linda Rasch, Wichita, wore green velvet dresses fashioned after the maid of honor. All wore velvet roses as headpieces and carried red and white peppermint carnations for their bouquets.

Dwight Martinek served as his brother’ s best man, groomsmen were, Tony Lieker, Lawrence, Ray Rafferty, Rossville and Wayne Rasch, Wichita. Ushers were Frank Ruff, Manhattan, Brian Palmer and John Garber, Lawrence.

Connie Sue Keller and Eddie Joe Besta were the flower girl and ring bearer.

A reception was held at the Delia High School auditorum following the ceremony.

Those assisting were, Janice Parr, Washington D.C., Sally Nadeau, Emporia, Mary Brethauer, Maple Hill, Jane Zickefoose, Manhattan, Beverly Zeller, Missouri, Sandy Boyle Jr., Carolyn Farley and Jane Parr all of Rossville and Bonnie Ellen Keller, Delia.

The bride a graduate of Rossville High School and Stuwart Beauty Academy of Topeka was employed at the Lady Be Lovely Beauty Salon in Rossville.

Mr. Martinek also a graduate of Rossville High School is a senior at the University of Kansas where he is majoring in Physical Education.
