Marriage- Romero, Irene-Bond, Robert

Are married Jan. 25 in Rossville church

Miss Irene Romero, Denver, Colo., became the bride of Mr. Robert Eugene Bond, also of Denver, in a ceremony solemnized Saturday afternoon, Jan. 25, in the Rossville Methodist Church.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oren Bond, Delia.

The Rev. Don Jones, Rossville, officiated at the double-ring ceremony at two o'clock, before an altar decorated with bronze mums and candelabra.

Music was provided by Mrs. Joe Campbell, organist, and Mrs. Don Jones who sang "The Lord's Prayer."

The bride, given in marriage by the bridegroom's uncle, Mr. Hubert Bond of Emmett, wore a lace floor-length gown, featuring a full skirt and fitted bodice styled with a scallop neck-line trimmed in iridescent sequins. The long, tapered sleeves extended to points over the hand. Her vail was caught to a tiara, and she carried a bouquet of white carnations.

Mrs. Gene Irwin, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Jerry Harvey, Topeka, cousin of the bridegroom, were attendants. Their gowns featured a gold-embossed rose and leaf design, short sleeves, and bell-shaped skirts. They wore matching pillbox hats with soft draped gold veils. These had been fashioned by the bridegroom's mother. Bouquets of yellow and cocoa-brown carnations were carried.

Attending Mr. Bond was Mr. Warren Graves as best man, and Mr. Wayne Bond, a cousin, as groomsman.

Ushers were Mr. Gene Irwin and Mr. Ralph Lundin.

Little four-year-old Ronnie Bond, a brother of the bridegroom, was ring bearer. He carried the rings on a heart-shaped pillow of white satin and lace trim.

For the wedding Mrs. Bond wore a tan flowered dress with brown jacket, and her corsage was of yellow roses. The grandmothers, Mrs. Justice Clark and Mrs. Jim Bond wore corsages of baby pink roses.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church Sunday School classroom. Assisting at the reception were Mrs. Jim Stein, Topeka, who served the wedding cake, and Mrs. Francis Doll, Wamego, who presided at the punch bowl. The serving table was covered with a beautiful lace tablecloth made by the bridegroom's Grandmother Bond, with an undercloth of gold, and centered with a two-tier wedding cake decorated in gold bells and white doves, and topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom. The cake was made by Mrs. Harold Irwin.

In charge of the gift table were Misses Dorothy Ann Doll, Karen and Judy Bond, and Mrs. Gene Irwin.

The couple will make their home in Denver.
