Marriage- Seitz, Mary-Stoddard, Edward

Vows are solemnized
The wedding vows of Miss Mary Martha Seitz and Airman Second Class Edward C. Stoddard was solemnized in a ceremony held Saturday, Nov. 23, at 10:00 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception Church Fr. Edward Thro, S.J., officiated at the ceremony and nuptial Mass.

Large bouquets of gold and bronze chrysanthemums were placed on the altar.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Richard P. Seitz, St. Marys, and Mr. Ambrose C. Stoddard, Orleans, Mich., and the late Mrs. Stoddard.

Mrs. Richard Royer, organist, accompanied Mrs. George Verschelden Jr., in the nuptial music.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown of organza and lace over taffeta. The bodice, with sabine neckline edged in lace and dotted with sequins, was accented by lace short sleeves. The soft gathered skirt had matching inserts of lace. Her fingertip veil of illusion was held by a princess crown of pearls and lace. She wore short matching lace mitts. She carried a bouquet of white mums with gold streamers. Her only jewelry were tiny pearl earrings.

The matron of honor was Mrs. James Pearl, sister of the bride. She wore a gold-embossed taffeta street-length dress with scoop neckline, elbow-length sleeves and bell-shaped skirt. Her gold circular veil was held by a matching band and other accessories of gold. She carried a colonial bouquet of bronze mums.

Mr. James Pearl, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man. Mass servers were Rick Seitz, brother of the bride, and Mike Pearl, nephew of the bride. Marvin Seitz, Wichita, brother of the bride, and Sgt. George Stoddard, Salina, brother of the bridegroom, ushered.

The mother of the bride wore a navy blue crepe and lace dress with black accessories, and a white mum corsage.

The grandmother of the bride wore a medium blue crepe dress with black accessories, and a white mum corsage.

A reception was held immediately following the ceremony in the Centennial Building.

A four-tiered wedding cake in white with yellow rosebuds, and flanked by yellow tapers, centered the serving table. Presiding at the punch bowl was Miss Diana Stallbaumer of Topeka. Cutting the cake was Miss Joanne Dodge, Topeka. Miss June Rezac and Miss Cindy Allen, Topeka, were in charge of the gifts. Miss Patricia Pearl, niece of the bride, was in charge of the guest book.

A dinner then followed for the bridal party and immediate family at the home of the bride's parents.

After a wedding trip to St. Louis, Airman and Mrs. Edward Stoddard are now at home in Topeka.

Out of town guests for the wedding included: Ambrose C. Stoddard, Orleans, Mich.; Sgt. and Mrs. George Stoddard and Rodney, Salina; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Irvine and family, Manhattan; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Seitz and family, Wichita;

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dodge, Rossville; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. Jim McNeive, Delia; Mr. and Mrs. John Seitz, Emmett; Mrs. Fred Barthuly Jr., and family, Paxico; Mr. and Mrs. Don Seitz and sons, Misses June Rezac, Cindy Allen, Joanne Dodge and Diana Stallbaumer, Topeka; Mrs. Elmer Stallbaumer, Corning.
