The golden bowl is broken. Disappointments, disease and woe fill a man’s last days with amentation. Yesterday was the death of a beloved sister, wife and mother and helping Christian. Mary E. Montgomery, that filled the community with mourning. The noble woman was the wife of A. Montgomery, pastor of the Christian Church. She was a loved helpmate and an ardent co-worker in the Lord’s vineyard who has endeared herself with her husband to the people of this place. She was born in Terre Haute, Ind., April 13, 1840 and died Oct 6. 1903, of neuralgia of the heart and stomach, and was buried in the Braman, Okla. cemetery, old soldiers acting as pall-bearers. Rev. [ ] E. Meyers and G. W. Porter conducted the service. A large number of friends attested their appreciation of her worth and their sympathy for the afflicted husband. Relatives were unable to reach Braman in time for the funeral.
