Obituary- Conley, Schuyler

S.H. Conley Passes On
Schuyler Howard Conley passed away early Friday morning, July 13, following an emergency operation for appendicitis at Vail hospital.

Mr. Conley became ill Wednesday but was up and around until Thursday forenoon when his son Jim went in and found him worse. Arrangements hurriedly were made to have a plane sent out from Topeka. It landed on the highway slab west of town and he was flown to Topeka.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church, with Don Jones, the pastor in charge of the service.

Music will be furnished by Mrs. Irene Campbell, Alice Boyd and Inez Richardson.

Pall bearers will be Messrs. John Lillard, Wm. Hesse, Ralph Page, Alfred House, Howard French and George Fawl.

Mr. Conley was born in Rossville, October 26, 1878, and would have been 73 years old next October. He was educated in the Rossville elementary schools and attended Emporia State Teachers College and Kansas State. All his life he was engaged in farming.

Mr. Conley was married to Maude Stone of Rossville in August, 1919. Three children were born to them: James L. Conley, Rossville; Vernon S., and William T. of Topeka, all of who survive. There also are two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Harvey, Topeka, and Mrs. Chettie Morris, Oakland, Cal.

The parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. J.K. Conley.

David Stiles of St. Lawrence, South Dakota, will fly to Rossville for the funeral of his relative, S.H. Conley so soon as he learns the date of the funeral.
