Marriage- Turner, Phoebe-Clothier, Nathan

The Marriage of Dr. Clothier and Miss Turner.

The marriage of Dr. N. Sumner Clothier and Miss Phoebe Carey Turner was solemnized at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Turner, at Rock Creek, Jefferson county, Kansas, Wednesday, November 5, at 5 o'clock P.M.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. G.M. Huffman, of McLouth., Kans., in the presence of a few intimate friends and immediate relatives. It was a quiet, modest affair, of which simple elegance and grace were the characteristics. After the couple had plighted their troth and received the benedictions and kind wishes of those present the company repaired to the dining room and a luxurious wedding feast was partaken of. Later in the evening the bride and groom took the train for St. Marys, where they will be at home to their friends after December 1st.

Miss Turner is the mighty accomplished daughter of Mr. Thomas A. Turner, a prominent farmer and livestock dealer of Rock Creek, and a niece of ex-state senator Alden E. True, of Vern, Kansas. She is a graduate of the State Agricultural College of Manhattan, Kans., and was enrolling clerk of the Kansas State Legislature for two years. She has also taught in the schools of Wabaunsee and Pottawatomie counties. Miss Turner is endowed with the ambitious Kansas spirit and has the energy and disposition to make and keep a pretty home and appreciate it.

Dr. Clothier is one of the finest dentists in the state and a young man possessing every virtue of a true gentleman. His genial happy disposition makes him a favorite with every one, and he is loved and admired by all who know him for his sterling worth. He has built up an extensive business in this city and is fast gaining prominence over his competitors in St. Marys by his honest conscientious business.
