Bertha C. Zeller
Wamego- Bertha C. Zeller, 86, of Wamego, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Rossville Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Immaculate Con¬ception Church in St. Marys. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 before the Mass. Interment is in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to Mary's Choices, P.O. Box 8689, Topeka, 66608. Piper Funeral Home is in charge of arrange-ments. Bertha C. Zeller
Bertha C. Zeller, 86, of Wamego, passed away May 24, 2013, at Rossville Health & Rehabilita¬tion Center.
She was born May 16, 1927, at Paxico, the daughter of William Frank and Helena Stech Kolde. Bertha grew up in the St. Marys community where she attended schools.
Mrs. Zeller was a homemaker and had cleaned homes for families in Wamego. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wamego.
She was united in marriage to Virgil C. “Turtle" Zeller in 1945 at Othello, Wash. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2003. Bertha was also preceded in death by sons, Michael Zeller in Vietnam on Feb. 25, 1968, Joseph Zeller on May 3, 1987, and Thomas “Pat” Zeller on March 16, 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Zeller and wife Meg of Topeka and John Zeller of Wamego; three sisters, Helen Tarbutton of Las Vegas, Nev., Nadine Perry of St. Marys, and Betty Aills of Salina; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 28 at Immaculate Conception Church in St. Marys. A rosary was recited before the Mass. Interment followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.
