Anniversary- McElvain, Melville and Josephine 1

Mr. and Mrs. McElvain were taken by surprise last Friday evening Mar. 19, when a number of their friends and relatives gathered at their home to celebrate their forty first wedding anniversary. The crowd entered carrying a beautiful rocking chair which they presented to the sur¬prised couple. The evening was pleasantly spent in playing games and music was furnished by Irene Howard and Gladys Eversole. At a late hour light refreshments were served consisting of cake and fruit salad. Mr. McElvain then treated the gentlemen to cigars and the ladies to candy. The invited guests were: Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Howard. Mr. and Mrs. Eversole, Mr. and Mrs. Z. Iteser, Mr. and Mrs. J. K.
