Notice of Final Settlement
Creditors and all other persons interested in the aforesaid estate, are hereby notified that on the 6th day of April, 1936, I shall apply to the Probate Court sitting at the Court House in the City of Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas, for a full and final settlement of said estate and for an order of the Court finding and adjudging who are the heirs, devisees or legatees of Oscar C. Allen, deceased.
You are further notified that my claim for compensation as administrator, and for attorney fees and other expenses necessarily incurred in the administration of said estate, will be heard on the 6th day of April, 1936, at 10 o'clock a.m.

The bride is a graduate of Highland Park High School and attends Washburn University, majoring in psychology. She is employed as a clerk at Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center and is a senior airman with the 190th Air Refueling Group. The groom is a graduate of Lawrence High School and attended Wichita State University and the University of Kansas. He is employed as a sales associate with Radio Shack and is a sergeant with the 190th Air Refueling Group Security Police.

On Saturday, June 17, at 901 Jewell Street, Topeka, Mrs. Arabell Allen of Waldo, Kansas, became the bride of Delbert Olson of Rossville. The impressive wedding ceremony was read by Rev. Harley Snodgrass of the West Side Christian Church.

Mrs. Allen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Bean of Waldo, Kansas. She has been employed the past two years at Topeka and Wichita until she came to Rossville to work. Mr. Olson is the son of the late Alfred Olson of Rossville and is an enterprising young farmer of the Rossville community.

Mrs. Olson was attired in an ashes of roses street-length dress with a lace bodice. She wore matching white accessories. She was attended by Mrs. Marguerite St. Aubin of 220 the Circle, Topeka, who was attired in a red peplum street-length dress and black accessories.

Mr. Olson was attired in a brown business suit, and he was attended by Mr. James St. Aubin. A wedding supper was served at the St.
Aubin home for the wedding party.

Mr. and Mrs. Olson are at home in Rossville.

The double-ring ceremony took place at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 1986, in the Rossville United Methodist Church. The Reverend Gene Damewood officiated.

“Long and Lasting Love” was sung by soloist John Weber, accompanied by Mickey Shannon on the organ. Suzy Thompson, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She was escorted by best man Jay Rezac, brother of the groom. Bridesmaids were Kathy Flanagan, Manhattan, and Kelly Meier, Beloit, who were escorted by groomsmen Rob Rezac,
Onaga, and Tony Wasinger, Springfield, Ill.

A dinner reception was held at the Rossville American Legion Building following the ceremony, with food prepared by Walt and Bernice Luttrell, Topeka. Barbara Rezac, mother of the groom, baked and decorated the couple’s cake.

The bride is a 1981 graduate of Rossville High School, a 1985 graduate of Washburn University School of Nursing, and is employed as an R.N. at the Community Hospital in Onaga. Lance is a 1979 graduate of Onaga High School, a 1983 graduate of Kansas State University, and is involved in the family farming operation.

The ceremony was performed on August 3 in the Immaculate Conception church in St. Marys by the Rev. A.H. Shultz, S.J.

Mrs. Leo Berry attended the bride as matron of honor. Mr. Leo Berry served as best man for his brother. The couple will be at home in Topeka.

Miss Patricia Rae Allen became the bride of Mr. Larry Dean Teske in a wedding solemnized Saturday, May 27, at one o’clock p.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Delia. The Rev. John Croughwell officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

Mrs. Bob Kerwin, Delia, was organist, with her daughters, Marita and Jean, the vocalists.

Parents of the couple are Mrs. Zita Allen and Mr. Raymond Allen, Topeka, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Teske of Delia.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her floor-length gown of peau de soie featured a rounded neckline, highlighted by a wide collar of Venice lace with pearl trim. The full pleated skirt, scooped up in front, showed more of the Venice lace and fell into a chapel train from the back. The modified bustle back was accented by three large self-made roses.

Her bouffant veil of imported silk illusion fell in soft folds to the waistline and was caught to an oriental crown of Venice lace and seed pearls. She carried a cascade of yellow roses, stephanotis, and fern.

Mrs. James Wolcott of Richland, Ia., attended her sister as matron of honor. Miss Marilyn Rosser, Holton, was bridesmaid. Their floor-length gowns of soft yellow, featured a bodice of brocaded satin with a
sheath skirt of crepe. A detachable train of brocaded satin fell from the waistline. They carried cascades of yellow and deep pearl roses with stephanotis and fern. Their headpieces were of a self-fabric yellow rose with a halo of gathered illusion.

Jane Wolcott, niece of the bride, was flower girl, and Carl Williams carried the rings.

Ed Simecka of St. Marys served as best man. Jeff High of Lincoln, Neb., was groomsman. Acolytes at the Mass were Vernie Sumner and David Brock, Delia. Joe Simecka and Dennis Sumner of Delia ushered.

The reception was held in the Delia Grade School auditorium. Marita Kerwin presided at the guest book. Assisting with the serving were Mrs. Ray Dohrman, JuDee Teske, and Barbara Brock. Those at the gift table were Mary Kay Boeckman, Mrs. Vern Koch, Marlene Hanrahan, and Charla Teske.

The couple took a wedding trip to the Lake of the Ozarks.

Mrs. Teske is employed by Hallmark Cards, Inc., Topeka, and Mr. Teske is serving in the U.S. Navy, aboard the USS Independence.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Allen and the bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thompson, Rossville.

Attending the bride were Debbie Allen, Topeka; Ann Anderson, Pembine, Wis.; and Lisa Stadler, Rossville. The bridegroom was attended by Steve Thompson and Doug Queen, Rossville, and Rick Miller, San Antonio, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson were graduated from Rossville High School. She is majoring in elementary education at Kansas State University and he operates a farm north of Rossville.

The couple is at home in Manhattan.

Allen-Thompson Wedding Held in Rossville

Suzy Kay Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Allen, Valencia, and Stanley Eugene Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thompson, Rossville, were united in marriage on Sunday, August 2, 1981, in the Rossville United Methodist Church. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Larry Buss. John Kratina and Cynthia Calahan provided the music. Mickey Shannon was the organist.

Candles were lit by Kim Hegle, Herington, and Kim Bolte, Salina. They wore pink chiffon gowns.

For her wedding, Suzy chose a simple, elegant dress of white organza. The scooped neckline and bodice were adorned with Venice lace. The bodice had a motif of Schiffli embroidery as did the sheer bishop sleeves. A chain of Venice floral lace swept down the front and across the skirt. The chapel train finished the gown. She wore a three-quarter length illusion veil trimmed with lace. Suzy carried a bouquet of white orchids, pink carnations, spider mums, and baby’s breath.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Debbie Allen, Valencia. Bridesmaids were Lisa Stadler, Rossville, and Ann Anderson, Pembine, Wise. They wore gowns of pink crepe with over-bodices of pink lace. The flower girl was Jennifer Anderson of Pembine, Wise. She wore a floor length dress of pink dotted swiss.

The groom wore gray pin stripe pants with a gray tuxedo jacket and light gray shirt. Steve Thompson, brother of the groom, was his best man. Groomsmen were Doug Queen, Rossville, and Rick Miller, San Antonio, Tex. Ring bearer was Ryan Sage, Topeka. Ushers were Monte McGinnis, Rossville, and Randy Shannon, Topeka. They wore gray tuxedos.

A reception followed the ceremony in the church basement. Serving were Debbie Willits, Jeanne Ronnebaum, and Lorrie Hildebrandt. Diane Shannon, Lincoln, Nebr., Sue Allen and Jill Allen, Denver, Colo., and Lindy Haines, Phoenix, Ariz., were at the gift table. Gift bearers were Dustin Martinek, Delia, and Jason Allen, Denver, Colo. Also assisting at the reception was Joan Anderson, Pembine, Wise.

Honored guests were the grandmothers of the bride, Mrs. Lavina Allen, Topeka, and Mrs. Evelyn Shannon, Blue Rapids.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson are graduates of Rossville High School. She is attending KSU, majoring in elementary education. Mr. Thompson operates a farm north of Rossville.

Historic Ward-Meade Park in Topeka formed the setting for the Oct. 24, 1998, wedding of Annette Alvord and Trent Leighton Flora.

The Rev. Ty Petty officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Ralph and Phidelia Alvord of Tampa Bay, Fla. The bridegroom’s parents are Vaughn and Rose Mary Flora of Topeka.

The bride was escorted by her son, Eric Alvord.

Amy Springer was matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Mary Sands and Kaylie Rae Flora, daughter of the groom.

Shawn Bird was best man. The groomsman was Troy Flora.

Cody Alvord, grandson of the bride, and Christopher Bird were the ring bearers. Wally Wahquahboshkuk served as usher. The vocalists were the groom’s sister and brother-in-law, Trina Rose and J.D. Hand. Shawn Bird sang and played guitar.

A reception and dance followed at the home of the groom’s parents.

Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Anderson, of Silver Lake, announce the marriage of their daughter, Patricia Ann, to PFC George Franklin Kratina. PFC Kratina is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Kratina of Rossville.

The marriage took place recently at the Muskogee County Court House at Columbus, Ga. The ceremony was performed by Judge Hunter and was witnessed by Mr. Anderson, father of the bride.

Mrs. Kratina was a 1954 graduate of Silver Lake High School and until her recent marriage was employed by Hallmark Cards, Inc., in Topeka.

PFC Kratina was a 1952 graduate of Rossville High School and prior to his induction into the Army, was engaged in farming. He is presently serving with the Inf. Div. in Ft Benning, Ga.

PFC and Mrs. Kratina are at home in Trailer Village Old Casseta Road, Columbus, Ga.

Attending the bride were Mrs. Tim Hanna and Mrs. David Bahm, Silver Lake, and Mrs. Jeff Johnston, Mrs. Rocky Chilson and Mrs. Randy Anderson. The bridegroom’s attendants were Mark Zlatnik, Randy Anderson and Jeff Johnston, Topeka; and Greg Marney and Dennis Kidwell, Rossville.

Tammy Lee Anderson and Alan Laveme Zlatnik were married at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 1983, at the Silver Lake United Methodist Church. Reverend William Hurtig officiated the double ring ceremony.

Parents of the bride and groom are Mr. and Mrs. C. Duane Anderson, Silver Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. J. Laverne Zlatnik, Delia.

For her wedding, the bride wore a dress of candlelight satin and imported lace. It was designed and made by her mother and her aunt, Erma Harden.

Deb Hanna, Silver Lake, was the matron of honor for her sister. The bridesmaids were Carolyn Johnston, Connie Anderson, Lynn Chilson, all of Topeka, and Sheri Bahm, Silver Lake.

Mark Zlatnik, Topeka, served as best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Randy Anderson and Jeff Johnston, both of Topeka, Greg Marney and Dennis Kidwell, both of Rossville.

Ushers were Tim Hanna, Silver Lake; Jeff Booth, Delia; Jim Berberich and Bemie Thompson, Topeka. Kathy Hogle, Topeka, attended the guest book.

The flower girl was Jenifer Hanna, Silver Lake, niece of the bride. Scott Zlatnik, Delia, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.

Candlelighters were Julie Zlatnik and Shelia Zlatnik, Delia, nieces of the
groom.

Organist Marguerite Williams, Delia, accompanied Carl Williams, Elbing, who sang “Truly” and “The Lord's Prayer,” and Debbie Revelle, Topeka, who sang “The Wedding Song” and “Through the Eyes of Love.”

A reception was held in the Fellowship Hall at the church following the ceremony. Serving at the table were Theresa Berberich, Teri Simpson, Topeka, and Cindy Brooks, Fort Scott. The wedding cake was made and decorated by Deb Hanna, sister of the bride.

Rice bags were handed out by Melissa Zlatnik, Delia, niece of the groom, and Kristine Hogle, Topeka. Jason Hogle, Topeka, rang the church bells.

A dinner buffet was held after the reception for the bride and groom’s families and the wedding party.

The wedding dance at the Bohemian Hall featured music provided by Del and the Downbeats.

Mrs. Zlatnik is a graduate of Silver Lake High School and is employed as office manager by Dr. Richard Nabours, Topeka.

Mr. Zlatnik is a graduate of Rossville High School and Washburn University. He is self-employed.

Following a honeymoon in Colorado, the couple is at home in Topeka.

In a quiet home ceremony last Friday evening, June 4, Mrs. Jessie V. Attebury of Rossville became the bride of Mr. Buel Burton of Meckling, South Dakota. The service was held: before the fireplace in the home of the bride’s brother, Mr. Orville Strimple of Topeka, and was performed by the Rev. Don Jones of the Rossville Methodist Church.

A lovely arrangement of salmon-colored gladioli decorated the mantel, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Strimple were the bridal attendants.

For her wedding, Mrs. Burton chose a softly tailored dress of rust-colored sheer, with white accessories. Her corsage was of talisman roses.

Following the service, guests were served from the bridal table which was lighted with candles and covered with a lovely lace cloth. The centerpiece was a beautiful cake decorated bout the base with carnations.

The wedding party included the bride and groom, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Strimple, Mr. and Mrs. George De Graff, sister and brother-in-law of the bride, Mrs. Minnie Stockman, sister of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Howard French of Rossville, and Rev. Jones.

Mr. and Mrs. Burton plan to make, their home in Meckling, South Dakota.

Corporal Shubkagel, who spent nearly two years in Alaska and the Aleutians, is now stationed at Camp Shelby, Miss.

Mrs. Shubkagel's mother is the former Emma Stovall of Rossville, and is a sister of Mrs. M.L. Whearty, Mrs. Lee Henderson and Earl Stovall.

The wedding was quietly solemnized in the presence of the immediate families. Preceding the ceremony, Miss Florence Keller sang "At Dawning," accompanied by Miss Lucille Griswold at the piano. Miss Griswold also played Mendelssohn's wedding march. After the ceremony Miss Keller sang "I Love You Truly."

Mrs. Zickefoose was attended by her sister Elsie, while Dr. Zickefoose chose his brother, Edward as best man.

The bride was lovely in a dress of pink net and she carried a bouquet of Talmasis roses. She grew to womanhood in this community and graduated at Delia high school and was a favorite with all who knew her. Dr. Zickefoose is a graduate of Rossville grade and high schools and a graduate of K.S.C. receiving his degree in Veterinary Medicine last June. At present they will make their home at Enid, Okla., where he has a position with the Bureau of Animal Industry.

On Saturday, July 26, 1975, Patty Becker and Lee McQueen united in marriage in a double ring ceremony at 7:00 p.m. in the Delia Presbyterian Church. The Reverend Dwight Seneker officiated.

Patty is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Becker, Rossville. Lee is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold McQueen, Delia.

Mrs. Kathy Billings, Spartan, N.C., was matron of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Miss Lisa Brennan and Miss Gay Crawford, both of Rossville. The bride's gown was made by her aunt, Mrs. Thelma Louis of Topeka.

Mr. Mike Rafferty, Hutchinson, was the best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Tony Eakin and Mr. Mike Newman, both of Delia.
