  Anniversary- Dick, Bill and Alverine Fifty-ninth Anniversary for Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dick It all started with a “Blind Date.’’ Fifty-nine years ago or February 11, 1924, Bill Dick and Alverine Tibbetts were married in Topeka. Bill was employed at McCormick Rug Company, making $12 a week, and Alverine was a chocolate candy dipper making $18 a week. They felt they had an adequate income to start out married life. The Dicks have four children, 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. This year, Bill and Alverine celebrated their anniversary with a party given in their honor at the Rossville Valley Manor. Mrs. Dick is a resident at the facility. The beautifully decorated cake prepared by Manor cooks and punch were served to the honored couple, residents, staff, family and other guests. Bill and Alverine’s son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Kay Dick, celebrated their 22nd anniversary on the same day.
