| Obituary- Bush, Edna 2 Edna Mae Bush
Rossville - Edna Mae Bush, 79, Rossville, died Wednesday November 25, 1998, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Bush had taught school in rural schools in Lyon County, primarily in District No. 107 at Admire.
She was born May 19, 1919, north of Emporia, the daughter of Jess and Bertha Thomas Corpening. She attended Emporia State Teacher’s College, and she had lived in Rossville the past 44 years.
Mrs. Bush was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church.
She married Donald L. Bush on Nov. 8, 1941, at Cedar Falls, Iowa. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Donald L. Bush, Jr. and Roger L. Bush, both of Rossville; two daughters, Linda A. Vacca, Topeka, and Cathy Marie Manbeck, Rossville; seven brothers, William Corpening, Eskridge, Donald Corpening, Wichita, Gerald Corpening, Liberty, Mo., Lester Corpening, Elkhart, Marvin Corpening, Cole Camp, Mo., James Corpening, Topeka, Victor Corpening, Emporia; two sisters, Freda Venning, Allen, and Berniece Pickens, Topeka; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Bush will lie in state after 1 p.m. today at the Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

ROSSVILLE – Mrs. Ellen Juanita Bush, 55, Rossville, died of natural causes Monday, Jan. 16, 1989, at her home.
Mrs. Bush had been a telephone operator, a nurses aide and a homemaker for Social Rehabilitation Services when she retired in 1984 for health reasons.
She was born June 11, 1933, at Axtell, the daughter of Marion and Pearl Parli Funk. She lived in Topeka before she moved to Rossville 24 years ago.
She was married to Raymond Bush June 15, 1963, at Miami, Okla. He survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Warren Lambert, Carbondale, Russell Lambert, Silver Lake, and Randy Bush and Bradley Bush, both of Rossville, her mother, Pearl Funk, Topeka; a brother, William G. Funk, Topeka; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Davidson Funeral Home at Topeka. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Topeka. Mrs. Bush will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1000 W. 10th, 66604.

Isador Bush Dies At Daughter’s Home in Rossville
Isador Bush, 88 of White City, formerly of Rossville, died Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. [ ] Hoch, in Rossville.
He was born March [ ] 1877 at Rossville. He was a retired farmer and had lived in White City the past [ ] years. Prior to that he [ ] lived in the Rossville [area.]
Survivors include [his] wife, Cora Bush of the [home;] four daughters, Mrs. [Hoch], Rossville, Mrs. Dorothy Lowery, Mission, Mrs. Juanita Van Hole, [Pleasant] Hill, Calif., and Mrs. Marie Nitzsche, Turon; two sons, John and Thomas, both of Rossville; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were at the Parker Mortuary in Topeka with burial in Rossville.

| Obituary- Bush, John N. d1953 JOHN N. BUSH
John n. Bush, 79, one of our highly respected citizens, died early Tuesday morning in a Topeka hospital, where he was taken last Friday suffering from a fractured hip bone, broken ribs and injured lung.
The accident happened at his home but was not discovered until several hours after it happened. His severe injuries were not known until pain set in and his physician had him taken to the hospital.
He was born October 30, 1873, in Rossville and was a lifelong resident of this community.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Nora Navarre, Topeka, and Mrs. Grace Baird, Wichita; two brothers, Isador and William Bush both of Rossville.
His wife, the former Kate Martin, preceded him in death a few years ago. Since that time he had lived alone, lately cared for by his sister-in-law, Dollie Lillard, and brothers Bill and “Dora” Bush.
“Nick” as we all knew him was a fine artisan in his trade as a carpenter.
His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bush among the early day settlers of this community.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday at Parker’s Mortuary with burial in Rossville cemetery.

Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at Davidson-Duff Funeral Home for John N. Bush, 68, Rossville, who died Wednesday morning in a Topeka hospital.
He was born January 4, 1905, in Rossville and lived most of his live in that community.
Mr. Bush was a carpenter.
He married Opal Kirkpatrick in 1931. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Jackie Bush, Orange, Calif., and Raymond Bush, Rossville; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Richa, Clyde, Mrs. Dorothy Lowery, Independence, Mo., Mrs. Juanita Van Hole, Pleasant Hill, Calif., and Mrs. Marie Fearer, Hutchinson, and eight grandchildren.
Burial was in Rossville Cemetery.

Mrs. Bush had worked for Luce Press Clipping Bureau and later at the Topeka Supply Depot.
She was born Jan. 24, 1913, at Dover, the daughter of Emerson and Cora Zook Kirkpatrick. She spent most of her life in Rossville.
She was married to John Bush in 1931 at Warrensburg, Mo. He died May 16, 1973.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond Bush, Rossville, and Jack Bush, Riverside, Ca.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. | Obituary- Bush, Raymond Raymond Bush (55) Passes Away
Raymond D. Bush, age 84, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Topeka V.A. Hospital. Ray was born May 8, 1937 in Rossville, KS the son of John and Opal (Kirkpatrick) Bush. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1955.
Ray served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he earned several honors for marksmanship and mortar combat. He married Ellen Juanita Funk June 15, 1963 in Miami, OK. She preceded him in death January 16, 1989. Ray worked at American Linen Supply in Topeka.
Ray was preceded in death by two sons, Warren Lambert, Bradley Bush, and a brother, Jackie Bush. He is survived by two sons, Russell (Anita) Lambert of Topeka and Randy (Jennifer) Bush of Rossville, KS; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Raymond enjoyed his grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events.

| Obituary- Bush, Threca Services for Mrs. Threca L. Bush, 56, Rossville, was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Rossville Cemetery.
Mrs. Bush died Thursday in a Topeka hospital after a short illness. Born Oct. 17, 1914, in Savoy, Tex., she had lived in Rossville 25 years. Her husband, Thomas Bush, died in October.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Bush Jr. and Ray Willingham, both of Rossville; four brothers, L.C. Willingham and W.H. Willingham, both of Grand Prairie, Tex.; J. B. Willingham, Irving, Tex., and C.E. Gary Wayne Sosah Buskirk, Sr., 67, of Mayetta, KS passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Rossville Manor. He was born October 4, 1950 in Claremore, Oklahoma. The son of Ada Levier (Mahkuk) and Eugene Buskirk.
Gary attended Haskell Institute and Washburn Vocation School. He worked at Allischalmers, Goodyear, PBPN Maintenance and Hamms Construction.
He was a member of Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and Native American Church Mayetta Chapter One.
Survivors include 3 daughters; Ella Mzhickteno (Buskirk) of Mayetta, Fawn Buskirk of Holton and Sheena Buskirk of Ottawa; 6 sons, Caine (Tucker) Buskirk of Holton, Wayne Russel of Missouri, Lance Buskirk of Rossville, Gary Buskirk, JR., James Buskirk and Matthew Buskirk of Mayetta; a brother, Mike Odell of Montana; a sister Margret Mahkuk of Mayetta; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Gary was preceded in death by a daughter Lahoma Buskirk; his mother Ada Levier; his father, Eugene Buskirk; a brother, Edgar Levier; step-father Bernard Fogg and ex-wife Joy Buskirk.
Gary will always be remembered by selflessness, sense of humor, creativity, love for his family, love for hunting and fish and a loving brother and father to all. He will be forever in our hearts, left us all with treasured memories.
Native American Church services will be Tuesday evening, December 31, 2019 at the Nozhackum Hall, 8362 158th RD. Mayetta. Burial will be Wednesday morning, January 1, 2020 at the Mahkuk Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of the arrangements. |

| Obituary- Buss, Andrea Andrea Kay Buss, 3, Hamilton, died Thurs., Oct. 21, 1982, at her home. She apparently died of a ruptured esophagus. She was born May 4, 1979, at Topeka, daughter of the Reverend Larry D. and Jeannie Trost Buss, while her father was pastor at the United Methodist Church of Rossville. She lived at Hamilton since June 1982. Andrea was a member of the United Methodist Church at Hamilton.
Survivors include her parents, Hamilton; a brother, Joshua Buss, Hamilton; her grandparents, Dale and Wanola Buss, Holton, and Carl and Verna Trost, Huscher, in Cloud County; and a great-grandmother, Mrs. Marie Simmer, Holton.
Services were at 11 a.m. Friday at Hamilton United Methodist Church. Burial was in Nelson Cemetery, Huscher. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Youthville, a Methodist youth camp at Newton, in care of Campbell Funeral Home, Eureka.

| Obituary- Butler, Michael DELIA -- Michael James Butler, 67, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. He was born March 23, 1944 at Honolulu, Hawaii, the son of John Kellogg Butler Jr. and Marie Cecelia Walsh Butler. He lived in Hawaii until moving to California at an early age. Michael served in the U.S. Army. He had lived in the Delia community since 1985.
Mr. Butler was a machinist and was self employed in manufacturing most of his life. He love God, his Country and Family. Michael was instrumental in starting St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Maple Hill where he was a member and led the rosary each weekend before mass. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jack Butler.
On Oct. 7, 1989 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Beaner Choate at St. Marys. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Rose (Colin) Butler VanderPutten , and Mary Katherine Butler, all of Delia; three sons, Zachary James (Miki) Butler and Judson Daniel (Kim) Butler, all of Wylie, Texas, and Joshua Dylan (Dana) Choate, Cedar Hill, Texas; a sister, Mimi (Bill) Loucks in Alabama; a brother, Rhett (Connie) Butler in California; 15 grandchildren.
Requiem Mass will be at 9 a.m. Wed., Oct. 5, 2011 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Maple Hill. Interment will be in the maple Hill cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tues., Oct. 4, 2011 at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made in Michael's name to be used for Masses. | Obituary- Butts, Bessie Mrs. Bessie J. Butts died at Christ Hospital, Topeka, January 14. She was formerly Miss Bessie Whipps. She leaves her husband, and an aged crippled mother to mourn her loss. Mr. Butts worked around Silver Lake the past summer with a line crew for the Bell people. The deceased lady at one time was a resident of Rossville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Whipps. Her brother, Wallace Whipps, worked on the old Rossville Times of which the Reporter is the successor. At that time the paper was owned and operated by Ernest Weller, of Wamego, who also owned the old Kansas Agriculturalist. After leaving here the family moved to Silver Lake and resided for some years. |

HARRISBURG Ernestine Lee Humphrey Caffrey, 95, of Harrisburg, North Carolina, passed away on February 20, 2022. She was born on November 28, 1926, in Rossville, KS, to the late Jewell Farley Day and Ernest Schantz.
Lee grew up on a farm in Rossville, KS where she became an expert horseman and showman. She passed that love on to both her children. She loved being on the water, boating, skiing, and traveling. She always enjoyed any time she could spend with her family and her friends. She was very deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford Caffrey; children, Randy Humphrey and Sandra Walker (Wayne); grandchildren, Blake, Hayden, Jodie, Justin and Jessica; 6 great-grandchildren; and brother, Donnie Shantz [sic].
Private services will be held.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Lee, memorial contributions can be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 104 Union St S, Concord, NC 28025.

| Obituary- Cahill, Alva ALVA S. CAHILL
Alva S. Cahill of Eskridge died early Saturday morning, at Stormont hospital, following a major operation a week ago. Mr. Cahill has been in poor health since last November.
He was born at Formosa, Kans., in 1884 and was 53 at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Rossville Methodist Church. In 1910 he married Violet Mosely of Rossville and five children were born to this union.
Mr. and Mrs. Cahill have spent most of their married life on farms in or near Shawnee county.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alva S. Cahill; five children, Carl, Walter, and Chettie, of Eskridge; Mrs. Clyde Miller and John Cahill, of Topeka; his mother, Mrs. Maggie Thomas, Topeka; four sisters, Mrs. Eva Burke, and Mrs. Mary Harden of Topeka; Mrs. Rettie Kisinger, Red Lodge, Mont., Mrs. Daisy Bernander, of Oklahoma City; six Brothers, James, Trenton, Mo. Clarence, Semon, S. D., Edward, Woodlake, Neb.; John, Buffalo, N. Y.; Ray, Los Angeles, Calif., and Calvin and Merele, of Powder River, Wyo.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Shellabarger home. Burial in the Rossville Cemetery.
Relatives from out-of-town in Rossville, Saturday to attend the burial services of Alva Cahill included: Mr. and Mrs. Daisy Bernander of Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. James Cahill of Trenton, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Conley, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Harvey of Topeka.

John A. Cahill died very suddenly yesterday at Topeka at the age of 62 years. Mr. Cahill is a former resident in this vicinity and is the father of Alva Cahill of Valencia. His death occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carl Benander, 301 Harrison St. Mr. Cahill attended the celebration at Willard the day previous and was apparently in good health.

John A. Cahill was born in Indiana, February 28, 1854 and died July 5th, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Daisy Benander, 301 Harrison St., Topeka, Kans. at the age of 62 years 4 months and 7 days. He has been a resident of Shawnee county, since the spring of 1893.
He celebrated the 4th of July with three of his children at Willard, and was apparently in good health. The cause of his death was gall stones and heart trouble. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Maggie Cahill, of Edgar, Mont., and 12 children, Mrs. Rettie Kisinger, of Topeka; Mrs. Eva Burke and Mrs. Mary Harden of Edgar, Montana; James Cahill of St. Joseph, Mo., Clarence, Ray and Murrel of Sharon Springs, Kans., Eddie of McIntosh, S. Da., Mrs. Daisy Benander of Topeka, Alva and Johnie of Valencia, and Mrs. Sadie Fulls of Dwight, Kans., and sixteen grand-children, four sisters and two brothers to mourn his loss.
The relatives attending the funeral were Mrs. Fannie Whistman, a sister; Mr. and Mrs. A. Kisinger, and children, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fulls and children, Mr. and Mrs. James Cahill, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Benander, and Clarence, Ray and Murrel Cahill. |

She was born October 19, 1953, at Wamego, the daughter of Billy D. and Mary Jo Keeler Wyre. She was raised in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High School. Debra lived in Topeka until moving to the Rossville community in 1997.
Debra worked for the Kansas Department of Revenue.
She married Randall Spencer in 1974 at Hoyt; they divorced. She later married Duane M. Cain on July 14, 1995, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on December 27, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father, her mother, and step-father Milton Snyder.
Survivors include three sons, Randy Spencer, Topeka, Shawn Spencer, Rossville, and Chad (Emily) Spencer, Topeka; her daughter, Brandy (Jim) Johnston, Corning, AR; her brother, Rexford (Becky) Wyre, Carbondale; her sister, Susan Crouse, Topeka; two step-sisters, Wanda White, Mayetta, and Karen Snyder, Holton; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Christiana, Jordan, Ainsley, Ethan, Henry, and Hazel.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Internment will be in the Rossville Cemetery. Debra will lie in state and the family will receive friends Monday, August 15, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. | Obituary- Cain, Duane 2 Duane M. Cain, 59, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015 at his home. He was born Jan. 31, 1956 at Holton, the son of John and Stella Hollar Cain. He grew up in Valley Falls before moving to Rossville where he attended high school. Duane served in the United States Marines. He graduated from Washburn College of Technology. Duane worked for Farmland and later U.S.D. 321. He was a past member of the Rossville Lions and SOAL at Jimmy Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion also in Rossville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Darlene, Vicki and Jeannie; brothers, Mark, Loren and Nelden.
On July 14, 1995 he was united in marriage to Debra Wyre Spencer in Topeka. She survives of the home. | Obituary- Calabrese, Lucille Lucille F. Calabrese, 82, of Topeka, passed away Friday, July 11, 2008. She was born May 31, 1926, in St. Marys, the daughter of Frank and Blanch Gutshall McCleery. She attended the Sandy Hook Country School near St. Marys. Mrs. Calabrese was a homemaker.
Lucille married Nick Calabrese Aug. 28, 1943, in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Tena Bengtson (Jim), Nick Calabrese Jr.(Donna) and Theresa Droge (Jerry) all of Topeka; son-in-law, Bill Housholder; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one expected; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Housholder and a sister, Mary Jacobs.
Mass of Christian burial was held Tues., July 15 at the Mater Dei Assumption Church, 204 SW 8th St., Topeka, where she was a member. Interment was in Rochester Cemetery, Topeka.

Samuel E. Calderwood, 85 of Topeka, died Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born Aug. 8, 1926 near Hoyt, the son of Henry and Sadie Gregg Calderwood. He attended school in Denison. After graduating from high school he served in the U.S. Army for two years.
Sam worked as a meat cutter, first in Holton, then as market manager for King Soopers in Denver for ten years. He returned to Topeka and was the market manager and later manger of Falley's Meat Plant. He later owned and operated the A&W Drive Inn, a grocery store in Silver Lake, and then Calderwood's Grocery in Hoyt. Sam was a member of the Topeka Jayhawk Club, the American Legion at Rossville, Holton V.F.W., and the Masonic Lodge at Mayetta.
He married Rosella Moormann on April 24, 1954 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Topeka. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Mick Calderwood and wife Susan, and Robert Calderwood, all of Topeka; two sisters, Betty Woodward and husband Irvin, and Emma Cress, all of Topeka; four grandchildren, Jordan, Sam, Riley and Drew; one great grandson, Evan; nieces, nephews and many friends. Sam was so very proud of the grandchildren's accomplishments.
Funeral services were June 27 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. Burial followed in the Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Midland Care, or the Hoyt Fire Department, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 280, Hoyt, 66440.

She married Charles Cameron Nov. 18, 1914, in Louisville. He died Jan. 5, 1951.

She was a former member and worthy matron of Amaryllis Chapter No. 321 of the Order of Eastern Star at Rossville and a life member of Loyal Chapter No. 176 of the Order of Eastern Star at Silver Lake. She also was a member of Rossville Literary and Music Circle. She was a member of Alpha Phi sorority at KU and Washburn University in Topeka and Music Study Club of Topeka.
Her husband, Jewell Joe Campbell, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Jan Campbell-Miller, Washington, D. C.; a son, Art Campbell, Rossville; and two grandchildren.

He was born in Austria in 1853, and had been a resident of Kansas, living near Delia, for about fifty years. Besides his son, a daughter, Mrs. Mary Simecka, Delia, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive him.

A memorial for family and friends will be held in Topeka at St. Peters United Methodist Church at 3737 NW 35th St., Topeka, KS. 66618, on March 10 at 2:30 p.m.
A celebration of Christine's life will also be held in Kansas City at Royals Kauffman Stadium, 9on March 11, 2012 from 1 to 5 p.m.
Family and friends are invited to attend either memorial or both if you prefer.

Mrs. Ann M. Cantillon, 72, Rossville, died Tuesday, June 23, 1981, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born November 12, 1908, at Delia, the daughter of Rudolph W. and Theresca Matyak Besta. She was reared in the Rossville community.
Mrs. Cantillon and her husband lived on the same farm west of Rossville since 1935. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and the Altar Society of the church at Rossville.
She married Richard J. Cantillon July 15, 1931, at Waukegan, Ill. He survives.
. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Backerman, Rossville; a son, William D. Cantillon, Rossville; a sister, Mrs. Cecelia Dolezilek, Rossville; nine grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild.
Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys. Mass of the Resurrection was at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rossville. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.

| Obituary- Cantillon, Michael Michael David Mike Cantillon
ST. MARYS - Michael David Mike Cantillon, 46, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the Community Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born July 9, 1960 at Bartlesville, OK., the son of William David and Nida Mogus Cantillon. He grew up in Kansas and Oklahoma graduating from Ponca City High School in 1978. Mike attended OSU. He moved back to Kansas in 1987.
Mike worked for Westar Energy at the Tecumseh Generator Plant for 17 years. He also operated a cattle business. He was member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 657 both in St. Marys. Mike was a loving husband and father supporting his children in all of their activities especially in sports. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt. Mike was a Kansas State Football season ticket holder and was an avid Kansas State Fan.
On July 30, 1982 he was united in marriage to Kim Tolle at Ponca City. She survives at home.
Other survivors include a son, William David Chance Cantillon, Manhattan; a daughter, Taylor Ann Cantillon of the home; his father William (Judy) Cantillon, Rossville; his mother Nida Austin, Ponca City; a brother Rich Cantillon, Blackwell; a sister Candy Karpe, Ponca City; and grandparents, Andy and Beth Mogus.
Mike was preceded in death by a sister Kathy Overby and by grandparents, Richard and Ann Cantillon, and by his step father, Bob Austin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 30, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Mr. Cantillon will lie in state from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, April 29 at Piper Funeral Home and after 6:00 at the church were there will be a Vigil Service at 7:00 followed by a Rosary. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Marys High School Athletic Program and sent in care of the funeral home.

| Obituary- Cantillon, Richard 1 Richard J. "Dick" Cantillon, 70, rural Rossville, died Friday, August 14, 1981, at his home. He was born September 16, 1910, in Chicago, Ill., the son of William D. and Beatrice Packham Cantillon. He attended schools at Champagne, Ill., and South Bend, Ind. He was a student at St. Mary's College in the early 1930s.
On July 15, 1931, he was married to Ann M. Besta in Waukeegan, Ill. The couple moved to the Rossville area in 1935, and farmed west of Rossville where they made their home. Mrs. Cantillon died June 23, 1981.
Mr. Cantillon was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in Rossville, an Honorary Life Member of Knights of Columbus Council 657, and a Fourth Degree member of the Thomas A. McNeive General Assembly, St. Marys.
Surviving him are a son, William B. Cantillon, Rossville; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Backerman, Rossville; a sister, Mrs. Betty Schaefer, Milwaukee, Wisc., nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Rosary is at 7 p.m. Tuesday (tonight) at Verschelden Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Church in Rossville. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Casket bearers are Robert Harden, Douglas Harden, Darrell Harden, Richard Cantillon, Michael Cantillon and Dennis Tolle.
The family has requested memorial donations be sent to the Heart Fund.

ROSSVILLE -- Richard J. Cantillon, 70, was found dead here Sunday, at his home where he lived alone. Authorities said he apparently died Friday, Aug. 14, 1981 of natural causes.
He was born Sept. 16, 1910 in Chicago, the son of William D. And Beatrice Packham Cantillon. He left Chicago to attend school in South Bend, Ind., Champaign, Ill., and St. Marys.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville, and an honorary member of Knights of Columbus No. 657 and a Fourth Degree member of the Thomas A. McNeive General Assembly, both in St. Marys.

| Obituary- Caraway, Joseph 1 Joseph A. "Joe" Caraway, 46, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at his home near Tipton.
He was born April 21, 1967 at Denver, the son of William G. and JoAnn Hyman Caraway. He grew up in the Delia community and graduated from Rossville High School in 1985.
Joe had lived in Topeka before moving to the Tipton community several years ago. He was employed by Farmway COOP.
On March 8, 1986 he was united in Marriage to Cheryl Lundin at Rossville. They later divorced. Joe was preceded in death by his father William G. Caraway; an infant daughter, Kayla; his dad, John Nitsch and a sister Kim Kriepe.
Survivors include his mother, JoAnn Nitsch, Delia; three daughters, Ashley Caraway and Roxie (Daniel Schiefelbein) Caraway all of Topeka and Kelsey (Charlie) Fulton, Carbondale; a son, Jeffrie Caraway, Emmett; four brothers, Jim Caraway, Lawrence, Rick Caraway, Denver, Tom Caraway in Arkansas and John "Dink" Nitsch, Delia; five grandchildren, Kiera, Kamdydn, Jaxon, Kensleigh and Korebn.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. The family will receive friends on Sat. from 9 a.m. until service time.
