Survivors include three sisters, Ann Fennell and Mrs. Alice Baumchen, St. Marys and Mrs. Kathryn Scott, Dallas, Tex. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys. ETHELYN FERGUSON Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the United Methodist Church in Rossville for Mrs. Ethelyn Ferguson, 88, Rossville, who died Monday in Omaha, Nebr., at the home of her daughter where she had been staying. She was born January 26, 1885, near Rossville, and spent most of her life in the Rossville community. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Rossville, and the Friendly Circle at the church. She was a long-time member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary and Music Club at Rossville. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Henrietta Minnis, Omaha, Nebr.; a sister, Mrs. Edna Pearl, St. Marys; a brother, Clarence Emert, Rossville; and three grandchildren. | 5557 |  | Obituary- Ferrari, Marsha MARSHA WABAUNSEE FERRARI Marsha Wabaunsee Ferrari, 55, of Mayetta, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was born April 7, 1952, in Mayetta. She was the daughter of Lou and Freda Nozhackum Wabaunsee. She lived all of her life in the Mayetta and Delia communities. She worked at Wabaunsee Drywall with her father. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church and a member of Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. Marsha was married to John P. Ferrari Jr. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2006. She was also preceded in death by a son, Daniel Allen on May 23, 2005; brothers, Richard Wabaunsee and Fred Lew Wabaunsee. She is survived by her father, Lou of Mayetta: sons, Henry Allen of Mayetta, Steven Allen of Yuma, Ariz., Charles T. Nez of Hoyt; sisters, Monnie Wabaunsee of Mayetta, Winifred Wahweotten of Michigan, Frances Wabaunsee of Mayetta, Louie Dominguez of Wichita; brother, Ralph Wabnum of Topeka; five grandchildren and many adopted grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church west of Mayetta. Ronald was born in Des Moines, IA. on December 24, 1938, the son of Ervel and Marie Veach Fetters. He grew up in Des Moines but spent his adult life in Florida. He was a realtor/loan broker. Ronald had lived in St. Marys the past several years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mara Dene Fetters. Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Fredericks, St. Marys; a son, Skip Cameron, in Mississippi; seven grandchildren. A prayer service will be at 9:00 A.M. Friday, February 12, 2021, at Piper Funeral Home, followed by interment in the Valley View Cemetery, St. Marys. | |

Fidler, 26, Emmett, who died late Saturday, June 8, at his home. Mr. Fidler was a farm laborer at Emmett. He was born July 20, 1957, at Corning, Calif., the son of Forrest and Lela Hitchcock Fidler. He moved to Kansas with his parents at an early age. Mr. Fidler served in the Army from 1979 to 1981, and was a member of the National Guard. He was married to Teresa Harbolt March 19, 1983. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Kevin Fidler, Ryan Fidler and Christopher Fidler, all at home; his parents, Forrest and Lela Fidler, Alamosa, Colo.; and a sister, Virgie Sheeley, Alamosa, Colo. Burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery at Silver Lake. Visitation 7 to 8 Tuesday evening at Verscheldens. Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at funeral home. | 5560 |  | Obituary- Fidler, Jess 1 JESS D. FIDLER Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka, for Jess D. Fidler, 21, Emmett, who died Friday, May 22, 1981, in a one-vehicle accident northwest of Rossville. A Shawnee County Sheriff's Department spokesman said the pickup Fidler was believed to be driving was northbound on Bailey Road, just south of 70th, at about 5 p.m. The spokesman said the pickup went out of control in an “S” curve, flipped once or twice, and landed upside down. Mr. Fidler was born January 12, I960, at Corning Calif., the son of Forrest and Lela Hitchcock Fidler. He had lived in the Emmett community since 1967, and attended Rossville High School. He was a member of A Company, 463rd Armored Division, stationed at Fort Riley. Survivors include his parents, Rossville; a sister, Mrs. Virgie Scheeley, Alamosa, Colo.; and a brother, Darrell D. Fidler, Mannhein, Germany. Military graveside services will be conducted in the Silver Lake Cemetery. | |
| 5561 |  | Obituary- Fidler, Jess 2 Jess Fidler Killed; Brother Injured Jess Fidler, Emmett, was killed and his brother was seriously injured early Friday evening, May 22, when the pickup truck in which they were riding went out of control northwest of Rossville and flipped once or twice, a Shawnee County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said. Sgt. Billy Lewis identified the dead man as Jess D. Fidler, 21. Fidler, who was home from Mannheim, German where he is stationed at a U.S. Army base, was dead at the scene, said Lewis. The other brother, Darrell D. Fidler, 23, was admitted to Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery late Friday. He suffered facial lacerations and was in satisfactory condition, according to a spokesman at the hospital. Lewis said Darrell was also in the Army, stationed at Fort Riley. Sgt. Lewis said the truck, believed to have been driven by the dead man, was northbound on Bailey Road, just south of 70th, at 5 p.m. when the accident occurred. The truck was headed into an “S” curve when it went out of control for 355 feet, flipping once or twice, Lewis said. The truck landed upside down. Jess was pinned inside the truck and Darrell was thrown from the vehicle, said Lewis. Mr. Fidler’s obituary is printed on page 2 of this issue. | |

Fiedler, 38, Rossville, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2008 in Topeka of injuries he received in a one vehicle accident on July 15, 2008. He was born August 24, 1970 at Manhattan the son of Bernard and Margaret Flerlage Fiedler. Brian grew up in the St. Marys community and graduated from St. Marys High School in 1989. He was a field operations supervisor for Designer Construction Company in Manhattan and had been working at Ft. Riley. He had previously worked for Kolde Construction in St. Marys for many years. Brian was active with his children and was involved with Tae Kwon Do and coaching T-ball and baseball. He was a member of Sons of the American Legion at Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 in Rossville. He was also a member of the post Legion Riders and the Patriot Guard. He was united in marriage to Mindy Phoenix on October 8, 1994 at St. Marys. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his children, T.J. and Jaycee both of the home: his parents, Bernard and Marge Fiedler, St. Marys; brothers, Bernard "Butch" (Carla) Fiedler, Portland, OR., John (Cindi) Fiedler, St. Marys, Rick (Dawn) Fiedler, St. Marys, Mark (Cindy) Fiedler, Topeka, Paul (Annette) Fiedler, St. Marys, Larry (Shelley) Fiedler and Kevin Fiedler all of Girdwood, AK. | 5563 |  | Obituary- Fiedler, Daniel J. Fiedler Daniel Joseph Fiedler, 85, of Holton, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021, at Holton Community Hospital. Dan was born Feb. 16, 1935, near Delia, the son of Martin J. and Margaret (Dilts) Fiedler and graduated from Mayetta High School in 1953. After high school he served in the National Guard of Holton from 1953 to 1960. He met the beautiful Venita Kay Haag at the Holton Theatre. They were married on April 4, 1956, in St. Dominic Catholic Church at Holton. Together they built a house and home and raised six sons, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Celebrating nearly 65 years of marriage, she survives. Dan and Venita operated DV Feed Services for several years in Holton. After that, he was a mechanic at several locations in Holton. He assisted Lloyd Daugherty on his farm and was a valued employee at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home. He was an Amsoil salesman until late in his life and spent much of his evenings assisting others with health products and networking. He will be missed. Dan dedicated his life to serving the community. As a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Dan would arrive many hours ahead of mass several times a week to prepare for the congregation. He lead the rosary, filled positions for mass as needed and stayed many hours after mass closing down. Dan served the church for more than four decades in every capacity through the course of numerous priests. Dan was a charter and life member of the Holton Knights of Columbus Council No. 4219. He could always be found at the community dinners long before and long after serving hundreds of the community, sharing breakfast with other K of C members. Throughout Lent, he and Venita would travel the countryside to hit every fish fry they could find. He served on the Mount Calvary Cemetery Board for many years. He and Francis DeVader spent many hours over the years keeping the cemetery in good shape. Dan was also a member of the Holton Volunteer Fire Department, a Jackson County Storm Spotter and an active member of the 16/75er’s Square Dance Club, where he would take Venita dancing late into the night. Dan was always willing to help when help was needed. He never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with everyone. Other survivors include sons, Michael J. Fiedler, Bradley A. Fiedler, Dennis J. Fiedler and wife Sherri, all of Brownsville, Pa., Gregory L. Fiedler of Topeka, Warren D. Fiedler and wife Rachel, Virginia Beach, Va., and Todd D. Fiedler and wife Jennifer of Pelican Rapids, Minn.; grandchildren, Matthew and wife Falisha, Adam, Amanda and husband Wyatt Thomas, Steven and wife Rachael, Christopher, Faith and Jackson; great-grandchildren, Paige, John, Isaac, Evelynn, Nayla and one on the way; brothers, David and wife Charlene of Holton, William and wife Virginia of St. Francis and Bernard and wife Marge of St. Marys; sisters-in-law Dixie Haag of Holton and Sue Wheeler and husband Wayne of Circleville; and brother-in-law, Allen Abel of Holton. He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Dallen Fiedler; a brother, Marcus Fiedler; a brother-in-law, Gale Haag; and a sister-in-law, Mickey Abel. Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, Feb. 9 at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial with military and firefighter honors followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery. He was born April 26, 1909, at Onaga, and lived at Wamego before he moved to Topeka about 30 years ago. He was a veteran of World War II, having served overseas three years. He was a section foreman for Union Pacific Railroad before he retired in 1964. He was married to Beulah H. Highfill Jan. 16, 1946. She sur¬vives. Other survivors include a stepson, Clarence L. Freeman, 1929 Lane; a brother, William Levi Fields, Osage City; a sister, Mrs. Martha Strimple, 544 Golden, and three stepgrandchildren. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. | 5565 |  | Obituary- Fields, Theo MRS. THEO N. FIELDS Mrs. Theo N. Fields, 63, of 931 Jewell, Topeka, died Monday night at her home, after a long illness. She was born in Wamego, June 12, 1886, and had lived in Rossville 27 years before moving to Topeka five years ago. She was a member of the Lowman Memorial Methodist church and of the Alma Chapter 270, O.E. S. Mrs. Fields is survived by her husband, Theodore, of the home and two sisters, Mrs. Tom Leonard of Duncan Okla., and Mrs. Leroy Johnson, Wamego. Funeral services were held this (Thursday afternoon) in the Methodist Church at Wamego. MRS. THEODORE FIELDS Theo Gittings was born Jan. 12, 1886, on a farm southeast of Wamego, the daughter of Henry C. and Polly Gittings. While residing there she attended the Red Top country school. The Gittings family moved to Alma, Kansas, in 1900, where Theo met Ted Fields of that place, whom she married Jan. 12, 1910 at Wamego, Kansas She departed this life Jan, 16, 1950, aged 63 years, 7 months and 4 days in her home in Topeka. She was a member of the Lowman Memorial Methodist church and of The Order of the Eastern Star. Those left to mourn her passing are the husband, Ted Fields, of Topeka, two sisters, Mrs. LeRoy Johnson, of Wamego, and Mrs. Tom Leonard of Duncan, Okla., also a host of relatives and friends. Mrs. Fields was a devoted Christian and was a good neighbor. Her cheerful personality endeared her to all with whom she came in contact. Funeral services were held Thursday 2:30 p. m. at the Wamego Methodist church in charge of the Rev. Terry of Lowman Memorial church of Topeka, assisted by Rev. | 5566 |  | Obituary- Fields, Theodore THEODORE FIELDS Services for Theodore Fields, 78, of Manhattan, formerly of Topeka, were held Monday at 2:30 P.M. at the Stewart Memorial home in Wamego, with the Rev. Julien Johnson officiating. Burial was in Wamego Cemetery. Masonic Graveside Service was by Hesperian Lodge Ill, Rossville. He died Friday at the Jolly Rest Home in Manhattan. Mr. Fields was born July 18, 1880, at Alma, Kansas. After leaving Alma Mr. and Mrs. Fields moved to the Rossville Community in 1918. They lived for a time on a farm southeast of Rossville, later moving to Rossville where for many years. Mr. Fields operated a Standard Oil Filling Station. In 1945, Mr. and Mrs. Fields moved to Topeka where he was em¬ployed by the Socony Mobil Oil Co. His wife preceded him in death in 1950. He was a member of the Topeka Shrine and The Order of the Eastern Star and the Alma Masonic lodge, later transferring his membership to Hesperian Lodge in Rossville, Kansas. He is survived by three sisters, Miss Alta Fields of Manhattan, Miss Mattie Blanchard of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Jessie Clardy of Cushing, Okla. She was born Nov. 10, 1939, at Silver Lake, the daughter of LeRoy J. and Josephine Olejnik Pressgrove. Karen graduated from Rossville High School. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Topeka, and a 50-year member of the ZCBJ Lodge, Rossville. She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Pressgrove. On Nov. 29, 1958, she was united in marriage to Myron Figge at Wheaton. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her mother, Josephine Pressgrove, Rossville; sons, Rodney (Diane) Figge, Peyton, Colo., Roy Figge, Colorado Springs, Colo., Robbie (Debbie) Figge, and Rex (Sherry) Figge all of Wamego; a sister, Shirley Rosser, Duncan, Okla.; a brother, Ronald Pressgrove, Topeka; eight grandchildren: Copper, Autumn, Austin, Jesse, Shianne, Wyatt, Anna and Colby. | 5569 |  | Obituary- Figge, Lorna Lorna I. Figge WESTMORELAND — Lorna I. Figge, 86, Westmoreland, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1996, at a Westmoreland nursing home. She was born Dec. 27, 1909, at Duluth, one of 15 children born to Herman and Mathilde Brunkow Teske. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School at Duluth and was a lifelong resident of the Duluth and Wheaton areas. Mrs. Figge was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church at Wheaton and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She married Fred Figge Jr. on Jan. 24, 1934, at Duluth. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Judy Outright, Rossville; four sons, Fred Figge, Dallas, Myron Figge, Topeka, Dale Figge, Westmoreland, and Lyle Figge, Wamego; a sister, Clara Stiff, Sabestian, Fla.; a brother, Ralph Teske, Onaga; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was born May 5, 1936 near Wheaton, the son of Fred William Figge Jr. and Lorna Teske Figge. He was raised in the Wheaton community and graduated from Wheaton High School in 1954. Myron entered the US Army on June 7, 1956 and served his country until October 8, 1962 Myron worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka for nearly 40 years. He had lived in Topeka, St. Marys and Wamego. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Wamego. He had been a member of NRA and North America Elk Foundation. Myron was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and doing woodworking. On November 29, 1958 he was united in marriage to Karen G. Pressgrove at Wheaton. She preceded him in death on November 24, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Shirley, Fred (Cookie) Figge and Lyle Figge. Survivors include his sons, Rodney (Diane) Figge, Peyton CO., Roy Figge, Colorado Springs, CO., Robbie (Debbie) Figge and Rex (Sherry) Figge all of Wamego; a brother, Dale Figge, Westmoreland; a sister Judy Cutright, Topeka; 8 grandchildren and one great-grand-daughter. Fish, Sr. who died suddenly in the office of Painless Romine, the dentist in Topeka, last Saturday at the age of 76 years. Death was due to a break in the right ventricle of the heart. The funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church at Belvue at 2-30 p. m. Monday. Rev. Gregg, a personal friend, officiating. The remains were interred in the Belvue cemetery beside his wife who, less than a year ago had preceeded him. The burial ceremony was performed by members of the G. A.R. of which he belonged having served his country from the beginning to the end of the Civil war, under U. S. Grant and Sherman. He is survived by three sons and three daughters, two of whom, J. H. Mr. Fisher was a member of Central United Presbyterian Church in Topeka, served on the Session, and was youth coordinator many years at the church. He also was a former member of a Masonic lodge and was a charter member of the Silver Lake Lions Club. He was married to Lillian Mae Salyer June 25, 1923, in north Topeka. She survives. A son, Dillon Eugene Fisher, died in 1981. Angela was born August 19, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Frank and Helen Dugan Maniscalco. Her mother died when Angela was only five and her step-mother Frances reared her. Angela came to Kansas to attend nursing school at Fort Scott. She then moved to Hutchinson where she met her future husband, John Jack Fitzgerald. They married on December 28, 1957, in Holy Cross Church in Hutchinson. The family moved to Topeka in 1966. After 51 year of marriage, Jack passed away November 24, 2009. Angela devoted her life to the care of others, nursing first at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Hutchinson, and then St. Francis Hospital and the Santa Fe Hospital in Topeka, retiring in 1998 after more than 40 years of service. She liked to knit and crochet, making many items for the needy in our community. She loved to shop especially with her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She knew what was special and important to each of them. Angela was a member of Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church. She loved her Catholic faith and was always true to it. She also remained true to her Brooklyn Dodgers. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Patricia Fitzgerald, John Fitzgerald (Jeanne), Michael Fitzgerald (Sherry), James Fitzgerald; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, her siblings, Margaret, Ann and Msgr. He was born May 23, 1926, at the Fitzgerald Farm near Valencia, KS. Ted was the seventh of nine children born to Leslie Taylor Fitzgerald and Lydia Bertha (Kresie) Fitzgerald. He attended West Union Grade School, helped work the farm while his five remaining brothers were at war, graduating from Rossville High School in 1946. He enlisted in the US Navy for 4 years on July 31, 1946, serving on the USS Atlanta as FC3 and on the USS Kankakee. He re-enlisted in 1950 serving on the USS Iowa during the Korean War, earning the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Ribbon with 1 battle star. He was honorably discharged on May 18, 1954. Ted was one of six sons to serve in WW II and the Korean War. He was a proud member of the VFW, American Legion, Moose Lodge, and Flint Hills Hunting and Fishing Club serving as Treasurer for many years. He married Rita Jean Smail in 1955 and they had four sons. They divorced in 1980.Ted learned the printer's trade from Mr. Smail and he worked for the State of Kansas Printing Plant from 1969 to 1988 when he retired. Ted enjoyed working on his farm near Valencia and restoring historical items. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Robert, John, Clair, Taylor, and Calvin, and two sons Scott and Gary. Survivors include sons, David and his wife Debbie, John and his wife Angel of Topeka; brother, James and his wife Carolyn of Topeka; two sisters, Eleanor Vance of Woodland, CA and Betty Petersen of Concordia, MO; five grandchildren, Stefani Moore, Robyn, Carly, Johnny and Jessica Fitzgerald of Topeka. He was born Sept. 14, 1919, near Soldier, the son of Barney M. and Elva M. Perry Flanary. As a child he lived in Emmett, Delia and St. Clair. He attended Little Cross Creek and Long Branch Schools. He and his family moved to the Maple Hill community in 1928 and he attended school in and near Maple Hill. In 1937 he graduated from Maple Hill High School. After school he farmed and served in the United States Air Corps during World War II from 1942 until 1946. Mr. Flanary was employed 31 years at KFU Hybrids and the Farmers Union Co-op in St. Marys, retiring in 1981. He later worked several years for the City of St. Marys. He was a member of the American Legion at Maple Hill and a Charter Member of the VFW in St. Marys. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Barney Flanary and two sisters, Irene Ames and Marie Sack. On May 10, 1947, he was united in marriage to Maxine Rezac in Topeka. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a son Richard and his wife Claudeane Flanary, St. Marys; a daughter, Janice Flanary, Manhattan; two sisters, Frieda Kimble, Maple Hill and Lois Clark, Topeka and a grandson Harold Lee Flanary, St. Marys. He grew up in the St. Marys community and attended schools there. He was active in the local Boy Scout Troop attaining the Eagle rank. He attended Kansas State University and received a degree in Nuclear Engineering in 1969. Mike worked as an engineer for the Department of Defense at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, in California, where he worked on nuclear ships and submarines, and then for the Department of Energy at Argonne National Laboratory, in Illinois, where he oversaw the development of nuclear energy and safety. He retired in 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Thomas W. (Marilyn) Flannigan Jr. Survivors include two brothers: William J. (Wilma) Flannigan, St. Marys, Ks. and Richard D. (Susan)Flannigan Dover, Ks. Mike was loved and admired by his niece and nephews: Matthew J. (Michelle) Flannigan, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Thomas J. She lived north of Delia until 1954 when she moved into St. Marys. Mrs. Fleming was a member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church. She was married to Frank M. Fleming in 1913 in Topeka. He died Dec. 29, 1952. He came to Jackson County, Kansas, in 1902, and settled with his wife and children. Returning from Rock Island, Illinois, only recently, he became ill and passed away Oct. 16, 1936. He is survived by one sister, Delia Hinton, of Dubois, Neb.; Maud Thompson, a daughter residing north of Delia, and Frank Fleming, a son of Rock Island, Ill., and a grandson, Donald Thompson. Funeral services were held in the Adrian church with Rev. Bruce Davis officiating. Interment was made in the adjacent cemetery Sunday afternoon, Oct. 18th. | |

| 5595 |  | Obituary- Flerlage, Joseph JOSEPH T. (JOE) FLERLAGE, JR. Joseph T. (Joe) Flerlage, Jr., 78, Hardy, AR; died August 22, 2017 in the comfort of his home after an extended illness. He was born April 22, 1939 in St. Louis, MO. to Joseph Flerlage, Sr. and Margaret Morgan. His family moved to St. Marys from Florrisant, when Joe was six years old. He attended Immaculate Conception Church and Elementary school. He graduated from St. Marys High School in 1958. He married Sally Sheppeard in 1959, they later divorced. This union was blessed with five sons: Joe, Dan, Matt, Dave and Mike. Joe served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1957-1963. One of Joe’s greatest joys was his family. In 1990 he was married to Linda Reuscher. She survives of the home. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Flerlage. Other survivors include his sons: Joseph (Diane) Flerlage, Alma; Daniel Flerlage, Belvue; Matthew (Cheryl) Flerlage, Topeka; David (Karissa) Flerlage, Knob Noster, MO; Michael Flerlage, St. Marys; Three brothers:Jack (Sue) Flerlage, James (Tippi) Flerlage and Larry Flerlage; Two sisters: Marge (Bernard) Fiedler and MaryAnn (Roy) Reser; Sister-In- Law: Carol Flerlage-Heim; Linda’s five children: Douglas, Denise, Stephen, Scott and David. She was born Nov. 9, 1896, at Hol¬ton, the daughter of Cyrus F. and Emma Vetter Hurrel. She graduated in 1915 from Circleville High School. She spent most of her life in the Holton community. Mrs. Fletcher was a member of First United Methodist Church in Holton and a life member of Mary L. Bair Unit No. 44 of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was married to Paul F. “Snipe” Fletcher on Dec. 30, 1922, at Holton. He died July 18, 1953. Survivors include two nieces, Charlene Bordner Tompkins, Mobile, Ala., and Faye Hurrel Waggoner, Coquille, Ore.; and four nephews. She was born Aug. 27, 1905, in Rossville, the daughter of James P. and Hulda Taylor Barton. She lived in Mayetta and Silver Lake before she moved to Manhattan in the late 1920s. She was born September 8, 1925 in Hiawatha, KS the daughter of Delbert F. and Grace M. (Solomon) Gibbs. Naomi had lived in the Holton community since 2003 and previously in Delphos, KS for 32 years. She was a homemaker and had also worked for Sunflower Creamery in Everest, Gay-Gibson Garments in Horton, Wilde Tool Plant and Justice Manufacturing both in Hiawatha and for El Dorado Campers in Minneapolis, KS. She was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton and a former member of Delphos United Methodist Church. Naomi was also a member of United Methodist Women at Delphos U.M.C. and lifetime member of Delphos American Legion Auxiliary Post 71 and Delphos V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 3035. Naomi married Milton Jennings on January 11, 1945; they later divorced. She married Stanley D. Flett on September 8, 1972 in Belleville, KS; he preceded her in death on July 12, 2003. Survivors include sons, Samuel D. Jennings (Susan) of Topeka, KS and Joseph M. Jennings (Rosalind) of Lawrence, KS; a daughter, Grace Ellen Heir (T) of Maple Hill, KS; a sister, Rebecca Spaight of Hiawatha, KS; brothers, Delbert F. Gibbs, Jr. of Hiawatha, KS and Jerry D. Gibbs of Lenexa, KS; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Lillian F. He was born Nov. 29, 1933, in Topeka. He spent most of his life in Topeka before he moved to Belle Plaine in Sumner County about three years ago. He was a railroad electrician before he retired. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Belle Plaine Lodge No. 173, AF&AM, both in Belle Plaine, and Midian Shrine in Wichita. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Excel RV Club. He married Darlene Cottle on Sept. 7, 1951, in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Debbra Wells, Mulvane, and Jean Orton, Belle Plaine; and four grandchildren. She was born August 27,1928 at St. Marys, one of 13 children of the late John and Mary Brunin Dohrman. Dolores was employed by USD No. 321 at the Delia Schools many years. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville and had been a member of Sacred Catholic Church in Delia before it closed. She had lived in the Delia and Rossville communities many years. Dolores was united in marriage to Joseph C. Floersch in 1956 at St. Marys. He preceded her in death on August 3,2003. She was also preceded death by her daughter, Karen on March 31, 2015 and her son, John Floersch on April 25,2015. Dolores was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill, Ray, Jack, Paul and Leo; her sisters, Sally, Mary, Veronica, Monica, Catherine, Germaine and Margaret. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Bob) Olejnik, Rossville grandchildren, Kasey (Kim), Neil (Adrienne), Dane (Kenzie), Kelsey, Makayla, Emmy (Jason) and Austin; 7 great-grandchildren.
