She was born Jan. 2, 1915, in Rossville, the daughter of Walter and Ida L. Marney Patton. She attended Rossville schools. Mrs. Parr was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. She married Joe D. Parr on Feb. 8, 1922, in Topeka. He died Sept. 29, 1961. Survivors include two daughters, Jeannine Thompson, Silver Lake, and Joleen Parr, Rossville; four sons, Thane C. Parr, Rossville, Larry C. Parr, Virginia Beach, Va., David J. Parr, Topeka, and Clyde L. Parr, Ottawa; four sisters, Nora Dell Foresman and Juanita Foresman, both of St. Marys, Hope Meade, Rossville, and Eileen St. Louis, Topeka; a brother, Kermit Patton, Rossville; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Parr will lie in state until service time at Verschelden Funeral Chapel in St. Marys. The casket will remain closed. Memorials may be given to the Kansas Arthritis Association. DONIC L. | 8753 |  | Obituary- Parr, Duane DUANE I. PARR Duane I. Parr, 84, of Rossville, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2006 at his home. He was born Oct. 2, 1921 the son of Ray and Edna Immenschuh Parr. Mr. Parr graduated from Rossville High School and attended Kansas State University. He was employed by the Santa Fe offices in Topeka as a young man bfore beginning a lifelong career as a farmer in the Rossville community. He loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren and farming. Mr. Parr was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church. He served on the Rossville School Board during the years his children were in school. He was a member of the Topeka Moose Lodge. He married Vivian H. Tolin, Dec. 20, 1947 in Topeka. She survives at the home. Other survivors include: one son, J.D. Parr and his wife Nancy, Baldwin City; one daughter, Patti Wilmoth and her husband John, Sanger, Tex.; his grandchildren Annie and Ellie Parr of Baldwin City and Laura and Kathryn Wilmoth of Sanger, Tex. He was preceded in death by his brother LeRoy Parr. Funeral services conducted by Reverend Nancy Kollhoff will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, 1 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Parr will lie in state after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. that evening. She had been admitted to a Topeka hospital April 7, 1972, following an apparent cerebral hemorrhage. She was born October 3, 1893, at Laclede in Pottawatomie County and spent most of her life in the Rossville community. She was married to Ray W. Parr February 12, 1919. He died July 22, 1970. Survivors include two sons, LeRoy C. Parr, Delia, and Duane Parr, Rossville; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie McCullough, Rossville, and Sister Mary of St. Amelia, Florissant, Mo.; a brother, Phillip Immenschuh, Rossville; and I five grandchildren. She was born December 3, 1894, in Shawnee County, the daughter of Sherman and Ida James. Mrs. Parr and her husband farmed south of Rossville for many years. She was a member of the Rossville Christian Church and a 50-year member of Amaryllis Chapter No. 321 of the Order of Eastern Star, Rossville. She married Shirley O. Parr January 1, 1913. He died in December, 1958. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Lois Clanton and Mrs. Thelma Martin, both of Topeka; Mrs. Thora Stadler, Rossville, Mrs. Maxine Stadler, Bremerton, Wash., and Mrs. Lorene Harth, Bella Vista, Ark.; a brother, Floyd James, Chula Vista, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Vivian Albright, Portland, Ore.; 17 grandchildren; 33 greatgrandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Rossville Christian Church. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. Parker-Price Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. | 8756 |  | Obituary- Parr, Effie Obituary. Miss Effie Parr was born at Lena, Indiana, Aug. 28, 1881, and died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Parr, southwest of this city, Saturday morning, Nov. 21, 1903, after a short illness from an attack of peritonitis. At the age of four years she removed with her parents from her native town to near Auburn, Kansas. After a short stay at Auburn the family removed to the old homestead near this city. Here she had grown to womanhood and was loved and revered by all who knew her for her Christian character. Funeral services were held in the M.E. Church, this city, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Kuhn, and burial took place in the city cemetery. She leaves a fond father and mother, three sisters and five brothers to mourn her death. As for Effie all is well. | |

Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. He was born Nov. 30, 1881 at Rossville and spent his early life in that community. He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad and later was superintendent of the Kansas City Railroad Terminal from 1913 until he retired about 13 years ago. | 8760 |  | Obituary- Parr, Harry Harry J. Parr, 78, passed away at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center Wednesday, April 28, 1998. He was born July 10, 1919, in Rossville, Kan., and later lived in California and Idaho before moving to Roswell in 1990. Parr enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served overseas on two destroyers, the USS Kimberly and the USS Gosper. In 1974, he retired from Pacific Telephone for 33 years of service while living at Pebble Beach, Calif. He was active in Lions Club of Pacific Grove, Calif., and was a past president. He was also an avid golfer who also enjoyed fishing and traveling. Harry's life was spent in being a good husband and a father. He and his wife, Bernice, were married Oct. 12, 1940. He is also survived by his two sons, Michael J. Parr of Watsonville, Calif., and Patrick E. Parr of Brookings, Ore.; and four grandchildren, Judd Parr and Jenifer Parr of Cupertino, Calif., and Justin J. Parr and Devin L. Parr of Watsonville. He had one brother, Ellis Parr, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his mother, father and a nephew. His request is being honored that there be no funeral service and his remains will be cremated. Also, in lieu of flowers, any memorial gifts should go to the Salvation Army of Roswell. Irene was born on a farm, near Herndon, KS, June 12, 1928. She was baptized and confirmed at the Enne Lutheran Church of Herndon. She graduated from Decatur Community High School in Oberlin in 1946 and attended Kansas State Agricultural College. She was a member and President of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and graduated in 1950 with a degree in Home Economics. She married Rolland "Red" Parr of Rossville in 1950. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter HX Rossville. She served on the Board of Visitors, Beech Museum at Kansas State University, was a member of the Kansas Livestock Association Cow Belles, Rossville United Methodist Church, American Legion Jimmy Lillard Post #31 Auxiliary and the Rossville Public Library Board. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Ruth Glad Henningson of Oberlin, Kansas an infant brother Stanley and her Husband Rolland "Red" Parr. She is survived by her daughter Catherine Parr of Livermore, CO, her son and daughter-in-law Howard and Rhonda Parr of Rossville, granddaughter Shannon Parr, grandson Kyle Parr, sister Frances Lintecum of Lawrence, Kansas and brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Sally Henningson of Oberlin, nieces, nephews and many friends. Irene was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend and will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 10:00 at the Rossville United Methodist Church, Ross¬ville, KS. Burial will be in the Rossville Cemetery. | 8763 |  | Obituary- Parr, James Death Claims J. M. Parr J. M. Parr passed away at 4 a. m. Wednesday at his home two miles west of Rossville. For the last forty-eight hours he was unconscious and the end came easily without struggle. Unusual devotion was shown by his family through out his last illness. To relieve their vigil, brother lodgemen and friends, had assisted during the last week of his life in making his condition as comfortable as possible Mr. Parr with his family has lived in this community for the past 36 years. Throughout the many years of struggle to gain a competence for himself and family he has overcome many difficulties and retained an undaunted optimism, The same cheerful disposition continued to carry him through the last conscious moments of his fatal illness. Born at Lena, Indiana, March 14, 1856, Mr. Parr had reached the age of 60 years, 1 month and 5 days. He was married to Miss Rebecca Elizabeth Smith September 5, 1878. This union was blessed with eleven children, nine of whom, with the widow, live to mourn his decease. They are: Mrs. Bertha Cless, of Rossville, Mrs. Ella Shideler, of Silver Lake, Frank and Ray, of Rossville, Carl, of Los Angeles, Calif., Ora, of Elmont, Russell, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Gladys and Mildred of the home address. One brother, William H. Parr, lives at Brazil, Ind., and one sister, Mrs. Mary Pliant, lives at LaGrange, Illinois. Mr. Parr was a Past Master of Hesperian Lodge, No. 111, and for many years has filled the office of Chaplain in this lodge. He was also a member of Evergreen Camp, M. W. A. At an early age he united with the Methodist church and continued in that faith to the end. The funeral service was held today at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church conducted by Rev. H. P, Basquin. The Masons attended the service in a body and the Masonic ritual was used at the cemetery. An overflow crowd of friends and neighbors attended the funeral. The pallbearers were the four sons, Frank, Ora, Ray and Russell and the sons-in-law, A. A. Cless and William Shideler. Friends and lodge brethren will sadly miss the hearty handshake of Mr. Parr and his genial goodfellowship. To the family is extended the sincere sympathy of the people of the community. | |

On May 12, 1923, he was married to Esther Pratt of Topeka. Mr. Parr was a veteran of World War I, having served in the Army Medical Corps, and was a member of the Rossville City Council for several years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Esther Parr, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia J. Gentry, and a son, Rolland D. Parr, both of Rossville; and four grandchildren. Services and interment were held Friday in Rossville. Mr. Parr was born near Rossville, February 5, 1892, and spent most of his life in Rossville community, until two and one-half years ago, when he went to Topeka. He married Florence Steffee on July 29, 1914. He served in the Navy during World War I. He leaves, besides his wife, Mrs. Florence Parr, two sons, Glenn Parr of Onaga, and William Parr of Topeka; two brothers, Shirley Parr and Joe Parr of Rossville, and three grand children, Marlin, Darrell and Sandra Parr, all of Topeka. | 8767 |  | Obituary- Parr, Josiah 1 JOSIAH A. PARR Josiah A. Parr, 79, a prominent and pioneer farmer of Rossville, died Friday at his home southwest of Rossville. Mr. Parr was born in Indiana, October 29, 1864. He came to Kansas with his parents in a covered wagon when he was one year old. They settled at Topeka. Fifty-five years ago he married and settled on the farm where he spent his life. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Minnie B. Parr; three sons, Shirley O. Parr, John D. Parr and Joe Parr Jr., all of Rossville; one sister, Mrs. Martha Taylor, Bryan, Texas; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Charles F. and Kathrine R. preceded him in death. Mr. and Mrs. Parr celebrated their golden wedding anniversary six years ago this November 25. Mrs. Minnie Pugh, who sat With Mrs. Parr during the funeral service had stood with them at their wedding 55 years ago. Funeral services were held at the home at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon conducted by the Rev. W. E. Dull of Topeka. Music was furnished by Mrs. Ruth Hesse and Mrs. Mildred Berry. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. The pallbearers were Glenn Parr, Nathaniel Parr, Joe D. Parr, Rolland Parr, Marlin Harth and Leroy Parr. Out-of-town relatives and friends here to attend the funeral service of Mr. J. A. | 8769 |  | Obituary- Parr, Katharine Diphtheria's Victim. - The little two-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Parr, living south of Rossville, passed away last Friday night after a brief struggle with diphtheria. The contagious nature of the disease made it impracticable to hold regular funeral services, and the body was quietly laid to rest in the city cemetery the following day. Two other children in the same family are also afflicted, but at last reports were improving nicely. General sympathy is expressed for the stricken family. Mr. Parr served 23 years in the Navy including service during the Vietnam War before he retired at the rank of chief petty officer. He later was a supervisor for NORSHIP Co. He was born Dec. 23, 1939, at Rossville, Kan., the son of Joe Dave and Donic Patton Parr. His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Parr, survives. Other survivors include three sons, Larry C. Parr Jr., Andrew B. Parr and Thayne B. Parr, all of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Jeannine Thompson, Dover, Kan., and Joleen Parr, Rossville, Kan.; and three brothers, Thane Parr, Rossville, Kan., David Parr, Topeka, Kan., and Clyde Parr, Ottawa, Kan. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home- Kempsville Chapel. Military graveside services will be conducted by a detail from the Norfolk Naval Base at 2 p.m. Monday in Meadowbrooke Memorial Gardens at Suffolk. Mr. Parr farmed and raised cattle near Rossville and then near Delia with his father and brother. He served on the Farmers Cooperative board at St. Marys and was vice chairman of the Shawnee County ASC Committee in 1964. He also was elected Lincoln Township treasurer several times. He was born April 1920, in Rossville, the son of Ray and Edna Immenschuh Parr. He graduated from Rossville High School and attended Emporia State College. Mr. Parr was a camber of Rossville Presbyterian Church and later the Delia Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. He was a member of Hesperian Lodge Mo. 111 in Rossville and served as master of the lodge in various years. He was district deputy grand master for District No. 20 in 1953 and served as worthy patron of the Eastern Star at Rossville. He transferred membership to Delia Lodge No. 419 in 1969 and was a member of the Delia Lions Club. Mr. Parr coached PeeWee baseball in Rossville and was a 4-H community project leader. He played on the Delia, Cross Creek and Rossville town baseball teams for several years. He married Wanda June Keller on Dec. 28, 1946. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Jane Parr, Ponte Verde Beach, Fla., and Janice Nash, Arlington, Texas; a son, KelLee Parr, Topeka; a brother, Duane Parr, Rossville; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka. Burial will be at the Rossville Cemetery. He was born April 5, 1920, at Rossville, the son of Ray and Edna Immenschuh Parr. He graduated from Rossville Grade and High School and attended Emporia State College before going into farming with his father. He farmed with his father and brother until his father retired. In 1968, after buying the Keller farm near Delia, Mr. Parr moved his farming and cattle operation there. He was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church. He later transferred his membership to the Delia Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. He was a member of the Hesperian Lodge 111 at Rossville and was Master there different years. In 1953, he was District Deputy Grand Master for District No. 20, and served as Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Rossville. Upon moving to Delia he transferred his membership to the Delia Lodge No. 419 in 1969. He was a member of the Delia Lions Club. He served on the Farmers Union Cooperative Board of Directors at St. Marys. In 1964, he served as vice chairman of the Shawnee County ASC committee, was treasurer of Lincoln Township for several years, helped coach the Pee-wees and Little League in Rossville, and was also 4-H community and project leader for many years. On December 28, 1946, he married Wanda June Keller. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Jane Parr, Ponte Verde Beach, FL, and Janice Nash, Arlington, TX; a son, KelLee Parr, Topeka; one brother, Duane Parr, Rossville; and two grandchildren. Minnie Kelsey Parr was born near Terre Haute Indiana, Oct. 26, 1869. She moved to Kansas at an early age, her family settling near Topeka where she grew to young womanhood. She was married to Josiah A. Parr on November 25, 1888. The day after their marriage they moved to the farm which has been her home her entire married life. Mr. Parr passed away August 11, 1944. To this union was born five children, of whom three survive her. They are, Shirley O. John D. and Joe Parr. She was preceded in death by Catherine and Charles F. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, March 29, at 2 o’clock at the home, with the Rev. W. E. Dull of Topeka, officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Ruth Hesse and Mrs. Mildred Berry. The pallbearers were Leroy Parr, Duane Parr, Nathaniel Parr, Glen Parr, Marlin Harth and Joe D. Parr. Mr. Parr was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church and had served on the Finance committee and the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee. He served on the Rossville High School Board of Education, the Shawnee County School Unification Planning Board and had been a member of Kaw Valley USD NO. 321 School Board where he served as president. Mr. Parr was a member and past president of the Kansas Livestock Association and the Kansas Livestock Association Tax Committee serving as chairman. He served as chairman of the Kansas State University Ag Advisory Committee and was on the Board of the Kansas Irrigators Association, and the Governor’s Task force on Water Resources along with serving on Representative Jim Slattery’s Ag Advisory Committee. Mr. Parr was on the National Cattlemen’s Association Tax Committee and the National Cattlemen’s Association Board of Directors. He was an Outside Director of the Kansas City Board of Trade. He was a lifetime member of the Kansas State Historical Society and belonged to SAR and the Topeka Genealogical Society. Red was a Gamma Sigma Delta Distinguished Alumnus recipient, and was a member of the KSU Presidents Club. He was a member of Lake Lodge No. 50 at Silver Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Virginia. He was united in marriage to Irene on November 11, 1950 at Herndon, KS. She survives of the home. Mrs. Parr lived in the Delia and Rossville communities the majority of her life. After retiring, she worked part-time as a receptionist for Carriger’s Eye Doctors, Rossville. Mrs. Parr was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church and later the Delia Presbyterian Church. She served as an elder, was a Sunday school teacher, and taught Vacation Bible School. Upon moving to Topeka in 1998, she joined Westside Christian Church. She was a member of Eastern Star at Rossville. Mrs. Parr was a 4-H community project leader for both the Rossville Rustlers and I Delia Earlybirds 4-H Clubs. She grew up loving sports, especially softball. She loved bowling, playing cards with her neighbors, and traveling. She was a great cook and exceptional seamstress. She also loved spending time with her family, brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends. She married Leroy Charles Parr on December 28, 1946. He passed away in 2002. Survivors include two daughters, Jane Parr, Ponte Verde Beach, FL and Janice (Louie) Nash, Arlington, TX; son, KelLee Parr, Topeka; sister, Naomi Sumner, Topeka; and grandchildren, Bo Nash and Elizabeth (Gabe) Williams, all of Arlington, TX. She was preceded in death by her brothers Phillip and John Vernon Keller; and a sister Geneva Fairbanks. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd in Topeka. Burial will follow at the Rossville Cemetery. WILLIAM PARR Services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Parker Mortuary for William Parr, 60, Topeka, who died Wednesday, January 7, 1976, in a Topeka hospital where he was admitted Saturday. He had emphysema. He was born April 23, 1915 in Rossville, and had lived in Topeka 35 years. He was employed by the water collection and control department before his retirement three years ago. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Topeka. He was married to Elrena Keller October 16, 1935 in Rossville. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Marlin Parr, and Darrell Parr, both of Topeka; and Darwin Parr, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Luetje, Topeka; his mother, Mrs. Florence Puckett, and a stepfather, Leroy Puckett, both of Topeka; a brother, Glenn Parr, Onaga; and six grandchildren. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Wilbur Norttcup, Jim Tustin, Claude McCabe, John Glidewell, Ernest Cook and Arthur Stovall. Parr, 67, Rossville, who died Wednesday at a Topeka hospital. He was born July 23, 1915, in Topeka, the son of William and Amelia Wunsch Parr, and lived in Rossville 26 years. Mr. Parr worked at the Topeka Supply Depot until 1948 when he moved to Whiting where he operated a service station. He later worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Topeka 26 years before he retired in 1977. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and Local No. 307 of United Rubber Workers of America AFL-CIO, both in Topeka. He was married to Marie Kaufman April 2, 1937, in Topeka. She survives. A daughter, Kay Parr, died in 1952. Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Janice Pope and Mrs. Nancy Besta, both of Topeka, Mrs. Patricia Martinek, Union City, Tenn., and Mrs. Linda Rafferty, San Antonio, Texas; a son, William S. Parr, Newport Beach, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and a great- granddaughter. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. For months, Mr. Partelow had suffered intensely and it seemed almost impossible for him to live from day to day. He finally settled on his farm near Rossville where he spent the closing years of his life. A few months before he died he gave his life into his savior's hands and united with the Presbyterian Church. | 8797 |  | Obituary- Partello, Elizabeth Mrs. Partello Dead The grim reaper thrust his cycle again into the community of Rossville and gathered another of its oldest settlers. Mrs. E. A. Partello, who came to Rossville in 1868, and has dwelt here ever since, died on the morning of December 13th 1910, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dr. H. H. Miller, after an illness of only two weeks. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Ann Wyatt. She was born at Gossport Indiana, October 28th, 1838. In 1852 she became a resident of Hartford, Iowa, where she lived until 1862. On New Years day, of 1862, she became the wife of Mr. E. E. Partello, and a few months later they went west to Kansas. While still living at Hartford she at one time helped to prepare food for escaping slaves from the South at one of the stations of the historic “underground railway” system. And while living in Brown county, Kansas, in 1863 the days of guerrilla warefare, one night after the day in which Mr. Partello had sold some cattle and received the money for them, their new made home in this new country, was attacked by a guerrilla band. Mrs. Partello saved her husband’s life by placing herself between him and the gun in the hands of the guerrilla leader. She recognized this leader as being their nearest neighbor and her testimony afterwards sent him for a long term of years to the penitentiary. Of her life of seventy-two years, one month and sixteen days, forty-two years were lived in Rossville. During these years here her experiences were mixed with both joy and sadness. Of a family of seven children she had the joy and privilege of mothering two daughters and two sons into womanhood and manhood, and she had a mother’s grief in having three of her children taken from her by death. On December 1903 she entered the shadow of a wife’s sorrow in the death of her husband. Having lived here so long and her family were everywhere well known and a large circle of friends are the result of these years of acquaintanceship. Besides her two sons and two daughters, two sisters and two brothers, still survive her. These together with many other relatives and a host of friends, deeply morn her departure, but find consolation in the fact that she died in the faith, for at the age of fourteen years she united with the Little Mound Baptist church in Indiana, and was a member of the Baptist church at Holton, Kansas, at the time of her death. Rev. John H. Lamb, of the Presbyterian church officiated at the funeral service, which was held at the home of Dr. H.H. Miller, Wednesday afternoon December 14th 1910. Many neighbors and friends crowded the home to pay their last tribute to their departed. After the service at the home the body was put in its last resting place in the Rossville cemetery. | |
| 8798 |  | Obituary- Partridge, Delores Delores Elizabeth (Hanrahan) Partridge was born April 2, 1936 in Delia, Kansas to Francis Bernard and Clementine Elizabeth Allen Hanrahan, who died in Kansas in 1972 and 1996. Delores died in Fort Meyers, Florida on July, 9, 2018. She will be buried in Canaseraga Cemetery. While working at Forbes Air Force Base in Kansas she met and married Ronald Forrest Glover, son of A. Ross and Daphne Gelser Glover, on Feb 5, 1954 at the Presbyterian Manse in Topeka, Kansas. Ron was born Jan 7, 1935 in Canaseraga, NY and died in a car accident on March 30, 1956 in Topeka. Ron and Delores had a son, Ronald Dean Glover, who moved with her to Canaseraga after the death of Ron Sr. to live near the Glover family. Delores married Dansville native Gerald “Jim” Partridge, son of LaVerne and Clara Sherman Partridge, on April 12, 1958 at the Parsonage of St. Paul’s United Lutheran Church in Dansville, NY. They were married for over 60 years, living in Dansville for many years before moving to Florida. Jim survives Delores and lives in Florida. Delores was predeceased by their daughter Bonnie Ellen Partridge Roberts on January 28, 2013. Delores is survived by her son Ronald (Diane Waterbury) of Littleton, Colorado; her grandchildren Julia Glover (Darrin) Turner of Colorado, Krista Glover (Marcus) Bratton of Colorado, and Wendy (Aaron) Weeks of Texas; her great grandchildren Quinten Turner, Oliver Turner, Ashton Turner, Sawyer Bratton, Soren Bratton, Paisley Weeks, and Ruger Weeks; and several nephews and nieces. She is also survived by her siblings in Kansas: Patrick, Marlene and Regina Jean. Delores was active in the Dansville community including with the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and the Cinderella Softball League. She especially enjoyed being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. | |
| 8799 |  | Obituary- Patell, Josett Mrs. Patell Dead Mrs. Josett Patell, died at 5:80 last Thursday evening after an illness of several weeks. Death was due primarily to old age. Mrs. Patell was one of the oldest residents of Rossville township, having lived here since the seven¬ties. Mrs. Patell was noted as one of the neatest housekeepers in this city, and in spite of her great age kept her home in order and did her own work up until a short time before her death. The funeral was held Saturday after¬noon from the Methodist church services being conducted by Rev. Ward. Interment was made in the Rossville cemetery. Paul Patell and Mrs. Josett LaFroumba [Laframboise] were united in marriage in North Topeka, Kansas, on the fourteenth day of Nov., 1872. Mr. and Mrs. Patell settled in Rossville township after their marriage and have resided here since. Mr. Patell was a member of the Baptist church of Rossville. The neighbors and her friends testify to her constant endeavor to live a Christian life. She leaves to mourn her loss her aged husband and an adopted daughter, Mrs. Liza Bear. Mrs. Patell was 86 years, 6 months and 3 days old at the time of her death. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved husband and daughter. | |
| 8800 |  | Obituary- Patell, Paul Paul Patell Died December 8 A letter received last week by C. E. Van Vleck, told of the death of Paul Pattell [sic], one of the pio¬neer settlers of this vicinity but who has been living for the past five or six years at Verden, Okla, where he died December 8. The following short sketch of his life is taken from a history of Kansas printed in 1883, in which many of the residents of Rossville township at that date were given a brief mention: “Paul Patell, carpenter, Rossville, came to Kansas in 1870, and first located at Topeka. He was born in Kansas City, Mo. September 21, 1833, where he re¬mained until 1882. Then he started for California across the Territories of Kansas, Colorado, and Utah. They had trouble with the Indians near Salt Lake and went through Nevada to Sacra¬mento, Calif. Remained there about three years and went to the West Indies as a sailor on a mer¬chant vessel. Worked as ship carpenter in the south. He was married in 1870 in Louisiana, to Miss Elizabeth Lasha, and came to Topeka in the same year. His wife and child died at Topeka in 1871, and he was married in the following year to Mrs. Josett LaFrombois [sic Laframboise], a native of Chicago.” |
