| Obituary- Kovar, Louis 1 Dr. Kovar Rites to Be Friday
Funeral services will be held Friday at 6 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church for Dr. Louis J. Kovar, 53 of 3229 Proctor Street, pastor of the church, who died unexpectedly Wed. at 9:45 p.m. in the St. Marys Hospital (Mar 1, 1961). He had been taken to the Hospital after being stricken at 8:30 p.m. while attending a Rotary Club Banquet in Beaumont. Dr. and Mrs. Kovar and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Blanton Sr., had driven to Beaumont for the meeting, and the pastor appeared in unusual health. He chatted with his companions during the trip and greeted friends on arriving at the crowded banquet hall. Preliminaries of the program were in progress, and the meal had not been served.
The party was seated at a table near the front of the room. Blanton’s first realization that Dr. Kovar was ill came when he dropped a glass of water he had raised to his lips, and seemed to sit rigid.
Blanton and others inquired if he was feeling bad, and the minister was unable to answer. Doctors sitting nearby came to the table. Only words that Blanton heard Dr. Kovar utter were, “Get Ben White,” his personal physician here. The pastor was unable to use his hands, paralysis having gripped his body.

| Obituary- Kovar, Rudolph First Death in Paul Kovar Family
Rudolph Edwin Kovar, aged 8 years, 6 months and two days, the eighth child of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kovar died Tuesday, April 10th, after being sick over five weeks, and the funeral was held last Thursday, April 12, conducted by the Rev. Crawford.
Little Rudolph was taken down first with rheumatism and later developed pneumonia. Surviving the last named he contracted measles and the latter was too much for his weakened little body and he succumbed after much suffering.
It is probable that he would never have been strong because of the ravages of the rheumatism, which had affected his heart. The loss of little Rudolph is the first in the Kovar's family of ten children and his loss is a great bereavement to his parents.
Rudolph was a student in the Delia public schools and beautiful floral offerings were sent by his fellow students. The pallbearers were Joe Gillgannon, Arthur Jackson, Miles Wolfe and Frank Moore of the Delia high school. The members of the U.B. church also sent beautiful flowers.
Besides his parents he is survived by five brothers and four sisters. The body was laid to rest in the Bohemian cemetery.

| Obituary- Kramer, Larry 1 Larry Kramer, 71, Dies
Larry Ronald Kramer, born April 6,1942 in Austin,
Minnesota, died Saturday, January 25 at the Rossville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was 71. Kramer had been diagnosed with Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) and his health had been declining the past eight years.
A native of Minnesota, Larry Kramer originally wanted to attend the University of Minnesota to play football. However, that is not how things turned out. Kramer was recruited and made the decision to attend the University of Nebraska. Kramer once said regarding that decision - the friends he made, the coaches and meeting his wife made that decision the best decision he ever made. He married Sandra Van Norman his wife of fifty years on August 17,1963. During his time at Nebraska he also became one of the nation’s best tackles while playing for the University of Nebraska. He was named the only unanimous selection to the 1964 All-American team that included players like Gale Sayers and Dick Butkus. Kramer went on to spend 32 years coaching football before his retirement in 1997. After his retirement, Kramer filled his days searching for antiques and expanding his extensive Coca Cola memorabilia collection.
The impact he had on the many young men and coaches he worked with was everlasting. Kramer was known for his toughness; however his players always knew he cared about their, success. He cared about each of them whether they were a first string player or sat the bench. His drive, discipline and passionate spirit have molded many young men who also went on to be successful coaches themselves. Many people found Kramer enjoyable to watch coach. His passion for the game, his team and his competitive spirit were undeniable. He loved the game!

| Obituary- Kramer, Larry 2 Kramer’s highlights and accomplishments as a football player and coach stand alone. He was one of a kind, but what made him truly special is the quality and character he had outside of the game. The love and caring attitude he brought to those he loved. He was tough at times but genuine and no nonsense. He was a wonderful father to his four children and a playful, gentle man with his nine grandchildren. It was not unusual at family gatherings to find PopPop/Grandpa out in the yard participating (not coaching) in a game of football with his little crew of players who all looked up to him. Kramer loved attending his grandkid’s games, programs and school activities. Even in the end he had a winning team. A team who adored him, loved him and will cherish the memories forever!
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra Kramer, a son, Tim (Kendra) Kramer, Lakeland, Florida, three daughters, Kelly Potter (John Humphrey), Topeka, Kansas, Erin Melton, Ft. Morgan, Colorado and Kerry (Jeff) Glasgow, Lawrence, Kansas and 9 grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother, June Kramer, Austin, Minnesota, brother Jim Kramer, St. Paul, Minnesota and brother in laws Robert Van Norman of Rapid City, SD and Jim Van Norman of Redlands, CA. Kramer is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Kramer.
A memorial, service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Emporia, Kansas, on Saturday, February 1, at 2:00 pm. | Obituary- Kratina, Sr., John OBITUARY
John Kratina died at his home six miles northeast of Rossville, Dec. 6, aged 76 years, 8 months and 10 days. He was born in Pozdechov, Moravia, now a province of the Czecho-Slovakian republic.
With his wife Mr. Kratina came to this country in the spring of 1891 and settled on the old homestead northeast of town where he lived until his death. In his native country he learned the art of watch-making. In 1903 he established a jewelry and watch repairing shop in Rossville. The venture proving unprofitable, after a few years he returned to the farm.
Besides the wife, he leaves four children, two sons, Frank, manager of the Farmer's elevator, Delia; John, Jr., who has charge of the farms; two daughters, Mrs. Joe Penaz of Delia and Mrs. Geo. Uhl, Topeka.
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the lodge hall in the community and was conducted by the ZCBJ Lodge of which he was a charter member. The funeral oration was delivered by the Hon, S. Dobrovlny, of Pawnee City, Nebraska.
Several vocal numbers were sung in duet by Mrs. A. B. Jamieson and Mrs. Albert Reser of Rossville. The capacious hall was filled to over-flowing with sympathizing friends and neighbors. The floral offerings were profuse and beautiful in design. Burial took place in the neighborhood cemetery.
In the passing of Mr. Kratina the community loses its best loved citizen. He was a kindly, generous soul whose guide through life assuredly was the preceipt laid down in the Golden Rule. There is comfort for those who mourn in the thought that having lived to the fullness of years as accorded to mankind—years spent in peace, contentment and right dealing with his fellow men—he has now entered into that rich reward held in reserve for those who put their trust in the God of human destiny.
